Board of Aldermen
December 7, 1953
The Board of Aldermen of the Village of Euless
met in regular session on December 7, 1953, at 7:30 p.m. Present were J. J.
Umphress, Mayor; Aldermen M. L. Anders, Ernest M i 11 ican, Jr., W, H. Fuller,
A. E. Tillery, and J. S. Anderson, this being the total membership of the
Board.
The committee appointed to contact Ross
Cannon on the purchase of a certain lot for the location of a fire house and a
community center reported that the I of i n question i s not for sale. I t was
then agreed that each member of the Board wi 11 be on the alert to locate
another suitable site that might be obtained in the future.
Mr. R. E. Bagley of the Lone Star Gas Co.
met with the Board and gave detailed information as to the various phases of
the franchise being offered the Village by his company after which, on
motion by M. L. Anders and second by J. S. Anderson, Ordinance Nos. 18 and
19 were adopted by unanimous vote. Ordinance No. 1 8 l i s t s the terms
and conditions under which natural gas is to be furnished. Ordinance No.
19 lists the specific rates to be charged for natural gas. (Copies of
Ordinance Nos. 18 and 1 9 on f i l e in Office of City Secretary.)
On motion by Alderman W. H. F u l l e r and second
by Alderman M. L. Anders, Ordinance No. 20 was adopted by unanimous vote.
This ordinance, offered by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., sets up the
terms and conditions under which telephone service w i I I be furnished the
Village of Euless.
The meeting adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
