CalledMeeting ofthe EulessCityCouncil March TOORDER MayorBobbyFullercalledthe specialmeetingoftheEulessCityCouncilandPlanningandZoning toorderatwiththefollowingcouncilmenpresent:Messrs.Don Warren,BillyOwens,BillyByersandFrankDouglass.PlanningandZoning memberspresentwere: Messrs. EdwardSmith,HenryBertHeyl, (MayorFullerhadanother meeting scheduledbutin HortonandLee. formedthecouncilhewouldarrivelater.) AlsopresentwereCityManagerLee andCitySecretaryVadaFerris. VISITORS: DonJarvisandDuaneJarvis, Architects,andHyde,ChairmanoftheRecreationCommittee werepresent. ARCHITECT'SPRESENTATION CENTER DonaldJarvisinformedthegroup that the sketchesoftheciviccenterwouldbeexplainedindetailby DuaneJarvisthat.the buildings hadbeendesignedtobeflexible,funct ionalandbeautiful DuaneJarvispresented sketches eachbuildingandexplainedtheproposedfunctionofeachbuilding. Edwardinquiredaboutthe size oftheworkroominthelibrary.Jarvisexplainedthatthisroom receiveallbooks,aswellascatalogueanddisbursethebooks...thatis worktakesplace. averybusyplacewhereagreatdeal Smithcommentedthathedidnot (Councilman believetheparkingareawouldbeadequateinyearstocome. the leftmeetingat Byers DonaldJarvisinvitedcommentsand questionsconcerningthesketchesandSmithinquiredtherewasan - entranceintothecommunitybuildingotherthanthefrontdooranentrance thatwouldbeusedforcateringservice,necessary.Jarvisexplained therewassuchanentranceandshowedtheentranceonthesketchthe unitybuilding. Jarvisstatedthatthissuggestionwouldbestudiedandgiven ion. CouncilmanDouglass asked Jarvis istohavethepolicefacilitiesconsiderablylargerthan (PageTwoMinutesofCalledMeeting,March the administrative facilities(cityhall).Douglassstatedthatinhis opinion,thepolice building hadbeenplannedforpersonnelfar into the theadministrationbuildinghadnotbeenplannedforfuture future,however, Jarvisexplainedthatthepolice building hadbeenplanned departments. andsuggestionsbyChiefofPolice withthehelpCityManagerCowell Sustaire.,.andthattheadministrationbuildinghad been based onpresent projectionbecausetheynotbeenad existingdepartmentswithasmall wassuggestedthatthe visedofexpansionplansforthecityoffices. architectsbegivendata concerning futuredepartmentstheadministration. Thecouncichamberscourtroomwas discussedandseveralcommentsmadeconcerningthe location theroom. Thefloorintheauditoriumwasdis cussedandBertcommentedthat the plastic floor thatwasrecently putintoaportionoftheWesternHillsInnwasprovingtobeverysatisfact ory.Hestatedthatyoucan dance onthefloorandthattheflooris damaged,youcanremovethedamagedportionandreplaceMayorFuller requestedthatthearchitectsinvestigateseveraldifferenttypes material Jarvisinformedthose present that hisappreciatedtheacceptance of, theproposedplansaswellasthe suggestionsandcommentsconcerningthesketches.Headvisedthatallwould betakenintoconsiderationandwasagreedthatanyfurthersuggestions, shouldbesubmittedtoCityManagerCowellforpresentationtothe architect. STATIONMATERIALS DuaneJarvisstatedthatisnec essarytohaveadecisiononsomeofthe materials tobeusedintheconstr 2. uctionofFireStationHepresentedthefollowingsamples;brick, terrazzo,walnut,veneerforkitchencabinets,panelingandCouncil manOwensmadethemotionthatthearchitectsbeauthorizedtoselectmat 2. erialsandcolorsfor Fire StationCouncilman Douglass secondedthe motionwhichcarriedunanimously. ADJOURNMENT MayorBobbyFullerinquired therewerefurtherquestionsorcomments.Therebeingnone,hethankedthe PlanningandZoningCommissionmembersformeetingwiththecounciland Messrs.DonandDuaneJarvisfor their presentation.CouncilmanDouglass madethemotionthatthemeeting adjourn, CouncilmanByerssecondedthe motionwhichcarriedunanimously.
