CALLEDMEET OFTHE EULESSTYL April CALLTOORDER MayorFullercalledthemeetingof theEulessCityCounciltoorderattheLibrary,atthe EulessCityHallwiththefollowingCouncilmeninattendance:Messrs. BobbyFuller,BillyByers,BillyOwens, Don WarrenandFrankDouglass. AlsopresentwereCityManagerLeeCowell andCitySecretaryVadaFerris.CityAttorneyJamesCribbsarrivedat VISITORS Visitorsinattendancewere:Betty (DailyNewsTexan),TedRickenbacher(EulessHerald),Messrs. Potthoff KentBesley,GeneSchrickel,Ratliff,PaulGates, Ralph Hyde,HaroldSamuels, Buck Conway,EdwardSmith,George Gordon, Elmer Owens,Mrs.RebaCromerandHughRoss. CityManagerCowellinformedthecouncil thatbidsforimprovementsatMidwayParkhadbeenopenedandtabulated atAprilatthe City GeneSchrickelhad evaluatedthebidsandwouldpresenthisrecommendationatthistime. Councilman Warrensecondedthemotionwhichcarriedunanimous ly.(OfficialcopyofResolutionfiledwithOfficialMinutesin iceofCitySecretary.) CityManagerLeethankedMrs. Cromerandotherelectionofficials,onbehalfoftheMayor and theCouncil, for their workduringtheelection, RIGHTOFWAY CityEngineerRatliffinformedthe councilthat,severaltheexistingrightofways,treeshadbeenplant edandcaredforbypropertyownerswhowerereluctanttopermitthetrees (PageThreeMinutesofCalledCouncilMeetingApril tobeuprootedforthestreetamddrainageconstructionwork.MayorFuller statedthathewouldrecommendthat the treesbereplacedwithsmallertrees andpermitthepeopletoplantthemintheirownyards...hestatedthat wouldbeveryexpensivetotransplant theexistingtrees. CouncilmanOwens statedthatheconsideredthattheengineersshouldbeabletonegotiate theowners and thattheownersshouldbecompensatedforthecostofthe tree,thecareandwateringofthetreeforalltheyearsthetreehadbeen there.CouncilmanByersstatedthathewouldbeinfavororreplacing the tree.CityEngineerRatliffstatedthatthepeoplehadbeennotified tomovethe trees byMondaymorning, Apr12th.
