Dear Citizens,
During this pandemic, we have seen the importance of our active service members, veterans, first responders and the
many, many essential workers that have continued to show up to work to keep our community running.
In addition to our First Responders, the City of Euless has a number of essential workers who can’t do their jobs
from home. I would like to give a special thanks to our Public Works employees for keeping our streets repaired
and keeping our water and wastewater services operating, our Animal Shelter staff that take care of our four-legged
friends, the Parks maintenance crews for our beautiful parks and medians, Code Compliance and Planning for
working with our small businesses, and our many other staff members who are working every day to answer questions for our residents.
I appreciate all of you! We are slowly opening up Texas and taking steps to support our small businesses. The Parks at Texas Star will
begin league play and tournaments on June 15. I’m excited that we will have some baseball in Euless again! As we continue to take
steps to reopen Texas, it is important that you make decisions that are the best for you and your family. I am hearing from our residents
about great ways they have continued to support our local businesses while using wise judgement to stay healthy. Our City website is
the best source of current information for residents. If you ever have questions, feel free to visit it or contact any of our staff for help. I
encourage you to stay connected in a variety of ways.

Fire Departments do more than house firefighters and
equipment. They are Safe Places for youth in trouble
or for newborn babies. The Euless Fire Department
has partnered with Project Safe Place, ACH Family
Services and the Alliance for Children to provide
refuge for anyone who may need help.
Any young person who is lost, scared, abused,
threatened or in any unsafe situation may visit any
Euless Fire Department to ask for help. If a youth in
crisis comes to one of our locations, we can connect
that individual with a Safe Place Coordinator who can
assist over the phone or in person to find emergency
shelter, reunite with family or make a safety plan.
Many youth who run away from home are victims
of abuse and many youth on the street end up being
abused and exploited.
Being a Safe Place site is one way to help end
the cycle.
Euless’ Safe Place locations are:
- Fire Station #1, 201 E. Ash Lane
- Fire Station #2, 1515 Westpark Way
- Fire Station #3, 202 S. Main Street

Safe Baby Site Location
Parents of a baby less than 60 days old may leave
their child at any Euless Fire Station at any time, no
questions asked. The parent has the option of filling
out a very short medical history form about the baby
for medical reasons only. The parent can place the
infant in the arms of someone capable of caring for
the child and providing medical attention if needed,
without fear of criminal prosecution. The “Baby
Moses Law” is the name of the law that allows a
parent to hand over a baby to authorized, designated
emergency care providers.
Euless Fire Stations are confidential, safe places to
surrender your baby and a much better alternative to
abandonment. Babies cannot be left at a Fire Station
that is not manned.
Feeding Children During
Summer Break
This summer, the HEB Independent School District
is providing free meals for children ages 1 to 18. If
children are not present, USDA guidance requires
parents to present a school ID or birth certificate for
each set of child meals.

Monitor Your Water Bill
in Real Time
This summer, take advantage of a free residential sprinkler system evaluation program provided by the Tarrant Regional Water District. A licensed technician will visit your home to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of your sprinkler system, heads and controller. The free program allows you to get advice from a licensed irrigator and ensure your system is as efficient as possible and help you conserve water, which translates to saving money on your water bill.
While the contractor will not make any repairs to the system, they will make the recommended adjustments to the system controller if you request. In many instances, that is the first step to water conservation and lower water bills.
To sign up visit www.eulesstx.gov/irrigation. Questions regarding this program may be directed to Richard Ross at 817-685-1909.
Free Sprinkler Evaluation
Are you taking advantage of the online customer
water portal? This handy tool helps you manage
your water usage, detect leaks and identify unknown
water uses, such as a sprinkler system that operates
more often than intended. The information it
provides can help you conserve water and save
money. The web-based, interactive application is
easy to read and use. As a water customer, you can
view hourly, daily, weekly or monthly water usage.
This helps you make informed choices and gives
you more control over your water use and more
importantly, your bills.
• Usage – By viewing water usage, you can detect
leaks. If you see a big spike in water usage or notice
continuous water usage (even when your home is
empty), you may have a water leak.
• Alerts – You can create alerts to notify you when
you’ve used a designated amount of water each
month or create leak alerts when you go out of town.
Set up your account by visiting
www. eulesstx.gov/water.
If you have questions or need assistance,
call 817-685-1471.

TXT 4 HELP is a 24-hour text-for-support service
for youth in crisis. Whatever the youth may be
dealing with—family issues, neglect, abuse,
thoughts of suicide or running away—they can text
the word SAFE (7233) and their current location to
4HELP (44357). Within seconds, they’ll receive the
address of the closest Safe Place location and the
number for the ACH youth shelter. They will also
have the option to text interactively with a mental
health professional. To learn more, visit

The City of Euless partners with Tarrant County
to test mosquitos throughout Euless for illnesses.
Once a week they test for mosquito-borne illnesses,
such as the West Nile virus, Zika virus and the
St. Louis encephalitis virus. Periodic spraying
for mosquitos is conducted in the areas that test
positive for infected mosquitos. Mosquito spraying
is typically done in the late evening (after 10 p.m.),
when most people are indoors. Spraying is not
performed during rainfall or when wind speeds
are 10 mph or greater. During the spraying, you
do not need to do anything special, since the spray
droplets falling on the ground become inactive in
just a few hours or with sunshine (UV light).
The City of Euless can notify you by email if you
sign up for “Community Alerts” on eulesstx.gov/
enotification. For questions or concerns
regarding mosquitos, please call Public Works at
817-685-1580.
