A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, DESIGNATING
THE POLICE CHIEF AS THE AUTHORIZED GRANT OFFICIAL TO
APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER OR TERMINATE THE DJ-
EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT
PROGRAM FROM THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR TO PROVIDE
FUNDING FOR CRIME SCENE FORENSIC EQUIPMENT
TECHNOLOGY.
WHEREAS, the City of Euless, Texas, City Council finds it in the best interest of
the citizens of Euless, that the DJ-Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant
Program be operated for the 2021 fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless, Texas, City Council agrees to provide applicable
matching funds for said project as required by the DJ-Edward Byrne Memorial Justice
Assistance Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless, Texas, City Council agrees that in the event of loss
or misuse of the Office of the Governor funds, Euless assures that the funds will be
returned to the Office of the Governor in full; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless, Texas, City Council designates the City of Euless
Police Chief as the authorized grant official. The authorized official is given the power to
apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF EULESS,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The City Council designates the Euless Police Chief to submit an application to
apply for, reject, alter, or terminate to the Texas Office of the Governor in accordance with
the terms and conditions thereof for the DJ-Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance
Grant Program (Grant Number 4037601) and accept funds for the program.
SECTION 2.
This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
PASSED AND APPROVED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council of the
City of Euless, Texas, on September 8, 2020, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and
0 abstentions.
