HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-02-04 ScholarshipTEEN COURT ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE MEETING MEETING OF FEBRUARY 4, 2020 STATE OF TEXAS § COUNTY OF TARRANT § CITY OF BEDFORD § The Teen Court Advisory Board of the cities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford, Texas met at 5200 p.m. at Bedford City Hall, Conference Room Upstairs, on the 4th day of February 2020 with the following members present. HURST: EULESS: David Lawwill, Renu Sloan BEDFORD: Chris Morrison, Kathleen Toms HEB Teen Court Coordinator — Mindy Eichorst CALL TO ORDER Advisory Board Chairperson Kathleen Toms called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. with four Board Members present. NEW BUSINESS 1. Review, evaluate and discuss HEB Teen Court Teen Volunteer Scholarship applications. Six Teen Court applicants were reviewed by the following Advisory Board Members: Chairperson Kathleen Toms, Renu Sloan, David Lawwill, and Chris Morrison. Teen Court Volunteers who submitted scholarship applications were the following teens: Gabriel Covarrubias, Trinity High School, Jonah Engelmann, Homeschooled, Brinda Giri, Trinity High School, Cody Smith, L.D. Bell High School, Sean Steves, Trinity High School, and Sean Toney, Trinity High School. The Advisory Board Members made a unanimous decision to award Smith and Engelmann with $1,500, Covarrubias with $1,250, and Giri, Steves, and Toney with $1,000 scholarships for a total of $7,250 to be presented at the HEB Teen Court Scholarship Gala on April 23, 2020.
