The Board of Aldermen of the Village of
Euless met in special session on July 26, 1954, at 7:00 p.m. Present
were Mayor Umphress, Aldermen Tillery, M i l l i c a n , Fuller, and Anderson.
Minutes'of the previous meeting on July 5,
1954, were read and unanimously approved.
After a lengthy discussion of the need
of a suitable location for a Community Center and Fire Hall, Ernest Millican,
Jr., made the following motion: That the Village of Euless purchase from
Ross Cannon, a certain lot 25 feet in width joining the lot now under 99 year
lease to the Euless Volunteer Fire Department on the west, for the purpose
of erecting, as soon as is feasible, a building suitable for community
meetings. It was understood that the cost of the lot would be $600.00.
A. E. Tillery offered a second to the motion. Those voting for were A. E.
Tillery, Ernest Millican, Jr., and J. S. Anderson. Against was W. H. Fuller.
Next the Board discussed the need of health
and sanitation measures in the Village and authorized Mayor Umphress to confer
with the Tarrant County Health Department pursuant to our adoption of proper
regulations.
The meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m,
