Fuller call'ed the meeting to order at 7 :20 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall with the f o l l o w i n g Councilmen in attendance: Messrs. Frank Douglass, B i l l Byers, Bobby Fuller, Harold Samuels and 'Don Warren. Also present were City Manager C. J. Griggs, City Attorney James Cribbs and City Secretary Vada Ferris. VISITORS Counc i,1 Candidates Visitors in attendance were as follows: Dan Shull Ernest J. Sachse, Jr. Fred Hughes Audie Morris and, Mrs. Dan Shull and son, Dan Shull, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Dick Leggett, Mrs. Dale Douglass and son, Steven, Mrs. Audthe Morris and Mrs. Betty Potthoff, Daily News Reporter. CANVASS Fl FCT ION BALLOTS Mayor Fuller announced this meeting is for the purpose of canvassing the ballots cast in the. municipal election held this date for the purpose of electing three (3) councilmen. Mrs. Reba Cromer, Election Judge, presented a tabulation of votes as follows: Mr. Dan L. Shull 422 Don R. Warren, M.D. (Incumbent) 478 Mr. Frank E. Douglas's (Incumbent) 397 Mr. Audie L. Morris 387 Ernest J. Sachse, Jr., D.O. 219 Two candidates (Withdrawn) Mr. Bobby R. Fuller (Incumbent) 280 Mr. Fred A. Hughes 190 (Councilman Bobby Fuller and Mr. Fred Hughes have announced their withdrawal as candidates several days prior to the election.) (Page Two, Called Meeting of the Euless City Council, April 2, 1968) Mrs. Cromer announced that 831 votes had been cast, and the three candidates polling the largest number of votes are: Mr. Dan L. Shull, Mr. Frank E. Douglass and Dr. Don R. Warren Mrs, Cromer presented election materials, as required by law, to the Mayor and City Secretary. Members of the council reviewed the vote tabulation and documents. Councilman Fuller made the motion that the council accept the vote tabulation as presented by the election judge and declare Messrs. Dan Shull, Frank Douglass and Dr. Don R. Warren duly elected to serve on the Euless City Council for a period of two (2) years. Councilman Byers seconded the moti'on and the vote is as follows: Ayes: Councilmen Douglass, Fuller, Byers, Samuels and Warren Nays: None Mayor Fuller declared the motion carried and thanked Mrs. Cromer and other election officials for their assistance. (It was noted by the City Secretary that this is the largest number of votes cast in any election held by the City of Euless and the first election in several years without write -ins). ADJOURNMENT Councilman Fuller made the motion to adjourn. Councilman Warren seconded the motion and the vote is as follows. Ayes: Councilmen Fuller, Douglass, Byers, Samuels and Warren Nays: None Mayor Fuller declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 7:45 P.M. APPROVED: ATTEST: Mayor City Secretary
