HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-08-02 (special called)Called Meeting of the Euless City Council August 2, 1969 CALL 10 ORDER 159 Mayor Pro tem Frank Douglass called the meeting to order at 7 :02 P. M., in the Euless City Hall Council Chambers, with the following present: ouncilmen Don Warren, Harold Copher, Dwayne Wilcox and Dan Shull. (Absent: Mayor A. C. Krause) Also present were City Manager C. Griggs, City Attorney James Cribbs and City Secretary Vada Ferris. RESOLUTION NO. 242 - CANVASSING SALES TAX RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS Mayor Pro tem Frank Douglass recognized Mrs. Edison Cromer, who served as Election Judge in the Sales Tax Election, Mrs. Cromer presented election materials, as required by law, and informed the Council that 359 ballots were cast, as follows: For the Sales Tax 293 Against the Sales Tax 67 Mayor Pro tem Douglass announced the Sales Tax Election had carried and thanked Mrs. Cromer and the election clerks for their assistance in the election. Councilman Wilcox made the motion that the results of the election be accepted as presented by the Election Judge, Mrs. Cromer, and Resolution No. 242, canvassing the returns and declaring the results be approved. Councilman Copher seconded the motion, and the vote is as follows: Ayes: Councilmen Wilcox, Copher, Warren, Shull and Mayor Pro tem Douglass Nays: None Mayor Pro tem Douglass declared the motion carried.
