II. Volunteer of the Month
Chairman Owens presented the July 2012 Volunteer of the Month plaque to Starbucks Manager
Erik Thompson. Our July nomination is a local business that has been a part of our Family of
Volunteers and special events for some time. For the last several years, they have participated in
various events, and have continued, even though their management has changed hands several
times. As with the previous ones, this newest manager has followed suit. For the 2011 Heritage
Park Christmas event, he provided between 300 to 500 cups of coffee and did likewise for the
2012 Arbor Daze Festival. So in honor of his kind and generous and giving attitude, his dedication
to our department we would like to recognize Erik Thompson, Starbucks Manager, as the July
2012 Volunteer of the Month. Erik thanked the Board Members for the award.
Chairman Owens also presented the August 2012 Volunteer of the Month plaque to N.Y.P.D.
owner Tommy Gallang. Our August nomination is a man that has allowed us to display flyers in
his establishment for a number of years. This is just as important as those that physically
volunteer for us, because advertising our events is a crucial element that helps to make our
special events successful. So in honor of his kind and generous attitude, his dedication to our city,
our department, our citizens, and his desire to help make Euless a better place to live, we would
like to recognize Tommy Gallang, N.Y.P.D. owner, as the August 2012 Volunteer of the Month.
