Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the minutes,
with corrections, of August 2, 2012. Beverly Leake made the motion to accept the minutes and Marcia Brown
seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee welcomed all of the guests to the meeting. Altaf
Samnani and his mother were here to observe the meeting to earn a scout badge.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Kate presented the August statistics.
The Verlon Thompson concert was another big success with 143 attending the performance.
Great Promise for American Indians is the next Masterwork's program on September 10th at 7:00pm.
Pete The Cat will be here for Saturday Storytime on September 22nd at 10:30am
On October 1 the internet speed will greatly increase for all staff computers and the public computers in the
library.
Kate discussed Access Euless with the library board.
The city budget has been approved. The city has funded our request for e-books.
Kate and Sandra Crowley continue to look for other artists for the tile project. They would like to find a local
artist.
Friends of the Library Book Sale is scheduled for October 12, 13, and 14.
DISCUSSIONS:
1. Mike McGehee reported that former Library Board Member, Wesley Scott, passed away and a card
was sent to the family.
2. Mike McGehee reported that the ELF Annual Meeting will be an Open-House at Frances Allen's
home to thank all of the tile supporters.
3. Betty Fuller reported on the Euless Museum.

1. Councilman Leon Hogg commented on:
a. Tax Rate
b. Major projects in the city
c. Employee salary increase
d. Rosa's Restaurant
e. Patriot's Day 911 Ceremony at 9:00am on September 1 lth.

2. Boy Scout Altaf Samnani inquired about the tile project and the aquatic center.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Allan Gibbs and seconded by
Beverly Leake. The meeting was adjourned at 8:20pm.
