A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING AWARD OF A CONTRACT
FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)
PROJECT NO. B12-UC-48-0001-22-70 TO ESTRADA
CONCRETE COMPANY, LLC, DALLAS, TEXAS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $306,492.50 FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF
SIDEWALK ACCESSIBILITY RAMPS IN EULESS, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas does hereby
recommend the award of a contract for CDBG Project No. B12-UC-48-0001-22-
70 to Estrada Concrete Company, LLC, Dallas, Texas in the amount of
$306,492.50 for the replacement of sidewalk accessibility ramps in Euless,
Texas; and
WHEREAS, CDBG Project No. B-12-UC-48-0001-22-70 consists of the
replacement of approximately 109 sidewalk accessibility ramps along South Main
Street, Fair Oaks Boulevard, Dallas Drive, Bell Drive, Denton Drive, Lee Drive,
Limestone Drive, Sixpence Drive, Newport Way, South Mills Drive and Simmons
Drive; and
WHEREAS, the construction funds available through Tarrant County for
this project are $409,352.95; and
WHEREAS, Staff has reviewed the bid tabulation and based on
supporting documentation from Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. (Exhibit "A"),
recommends that Tarrant County award the contract to the low bidder, Estrada
Concrete Company, LLC, Dallas, Texas;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The City of Euless, Texas City Council recommends award of a contract to
Estrada Concrete Company, LLC, Dallas, Texas for the replacement of
approximately 109 sidewalk accessibility ramps along South Main Street, Fair
Oaks Boulevard, Dallas Drive, Bell Drive, Denton Drive, Lee Drive, Limestone
Drive, Sixpence Drive, Newport Way, South Mills Drive and Simmons Drive in the
amount of $306,492.50 of which Tarrant County Community Development will
pay the full amount
SECTION 2.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage in
accordance with the Charter of the City of Euless and upon publication, and it is
accordingly so resolved.
APPROVED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 26th
day of March 2013 by a vote of 5 ayes, o nays, and 0 abstentions.

Sidewalk Accessibility Ramps
Recommendation for Award
Dear Allen,
The bid opening for the 38`h Year CDBG project was held at the offices of Tarrant County Community
Development on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. The subject project involves construction of 109
sidewalk ramps throughout the city. Four formal bids were received and are provided in the attached
bid tabulation. We have reviewed the bids for accuracy and omissions and they appear to be in order.
The low bid for the reconstruction project is$306,492.50 as submitted by Estrada Concrete Company.
The engineering estimate for the project was $ 381,500. The 38th Year CDBG construction funds
along with carry over funds from 36th Yearamount to$409,352.95.
Based on experience with this contractor on projects of similar scope and size,we recommend that filo
City of Euless recommend award of the contract for construction of the Citywide Sidewalk Accessibility
Ramps project to Estrada Concrete Company for the Base Bid Total of$306,492.50.
