Jeanne Owers made a motion to accept the minutes and Warren Wilson seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. OLD BUSINESS 1. Discuss items as they relate to the annual Teen Court Scholarship Banquet. Board Member Warren Wilson seconded that motion and everyone voted with a unanimous decision. Warren Wilson also brought up the silent auction idea of a live puppy. His main concern was the puppy would go to a good family and would not have to go back to the animal shelter. It has come up about having a corporate sponsor underwrite the banquet but at this time there is not one but maybe for future banquets. Warren Wilson will be giving the invocation. Teen Court Coordinator Mindy Eichorst will be emailing the tax exempt form along with the new donation form and letter. 2. Discuss ideas for fundraisers. Chairperson Renu Sloan mentioned she has spoken again with the Papa John's Pizza Bedford General Manager, Ms. Harlow, and also the Regional Director about having the Board's fundraiser. It was reiterated that the amount of the fundraiser is 20% of the day's sales. After much discussion about different days/nights to try, the conclusion was two days a month, the first and third Thursday of the month. Board Member Janet Key made a motion to begin a fundraiser at Papa John's Pizza on the first and third Thursdays of the month and Jeanne Owers seconded the motion. All were in favor. Renu Sloan was going to talk again with Michelle at Papa John's and let her know that March 21 would be the first day to start the fundraiser. Board member Warren Wilson mentioned he would let all of the Trojan Talk mentors know about the Papa John's nights and what night it would start. Public awareness about the fundraiser was discussed and several locations were brought up. City of Euless Council Liaison Linda Martin mentioned to check with the H-E-B School Board about putting fliers within the schools and having an announcement on any of the marquees. The concern of how the Advisory Board would get paid and how often was mentioned but Chairperson Renu Sloan provided a flier presented to her from Papa John's Corporation and it explains their procedures.
