Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the minutes of
March 7, 2013 meeting. Beverly Leake made the motion to accept the minutes and Chris McAllister seconded
the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee welcomed all of the visitors to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Kate Lyon reviewed the library stats.
Kate reported that the aquarium was replaced due to a water leak. All of the fish survived, some of the coral
was replaced, and also we have some new fish.
Tile Project: we received three new tiles today.
National Library Week is April 14th through April 20th. We have promotional items to give away during the
week, our annual Edible Book Contest will be on April 17th, and Alex Harvey will wrap up the week with his
concert on Friday, April 19th
Judging for the Edible Book Contest is at 4:00pm on Wednesday, April 17th. The entries will be on display
through Friday, April 19th.
The library Budget requests have been submitted to Finance.
The library will be closed Arbor Daze weekend.
Kate Lyon announced that she is retiring effective April 30, 2013.
NTLP announced they are out of business effective April 30, 2013.

DISCUSSIONS:
1. Barney Snitz reported that he enjoyed Beyond the Pale performance.
2. Texas Trash-off is on Saturday, April 6th and Barney will be working on Highway 10.
3. Marcia Brown reports that retired teachers/staff with HEBISD will be giving away books to students.
CITIZEN INPUT:
1. LuAnn Portugal commented on:
a. Congratulations to Kate on her retirement.
2. Leon Hogg commented on:
a. Aquatics center
b. River Walk housing
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Beverly Leake and seconded by
Allan Gibbs. The meeting was adjourned at 8:02 p.m.
