M. in the Council Chambers of Euless City Hall, with Mayor A. C. Krause presiding. Members present were Councilmen Frank Douglass, Harold Copher, Don Warren, and Dwayne VV 1cox. (Absent was Councilman Dan Shull, recuperating from surgery.) Griggs, City Secretary Vada Ferris, C i t y Engineer B i l l Ratliff. VISITORS Also present were City Manager C. J. RESOLUTION NO. 301 SUPPORTING THE NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS COUNCIL CF GOVERNMENTS STUDY AND PLAN FCR SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL Councilman Wilcox moved to approve Resolution No. 301 supporting the North Central Texas Council of Governments System Analysis Study and Regional Plan for Solid Waste Disposal for the North Central Texas Region: Councilman Douglass seconded the motion and the vote is as follows: Ayes: Councilmen Wilcox, Douglass, Warren, and Copher Nays: None Mayor Krause declared the motion carried. ACCEPTANCE CF HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT MINUTE ORDER NO,. 65856 FCR CONSTRUCTION CF OVERPASS ON SPUR 350 AT EULESS JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL City Manager Griggs reviewed Texas Highway Department Minute Order No. 65856 which authorizes construction of pedestrian overpass on Spur 350 at Euless Junior High School. (Page Two, Minutes of Regular Meeting, Euless City Council, February 8, 1972) Councilman Warren moved to approve Texas Highway Department Minute Order No. 65856. Councilman Wilcox seconded the motion and the vote is as follows: Ayes: Councilmen Warren, Wilcox, Douglass, and Copher Nays: None Mayor Krause declared the motion carried and expressed appreciation to Misses Beverly Klaus, Mel inda Pickett, and Cathy Ozebeck, studen'ts of Euless Junior High School for their assistance in this project. COMMUNITY BUILDING GYMNASIUM CEILING City Manager Griggs stated that the Park and Recreation Committee has recommended remodeling the damaged ceiling and lighting in the gymnasium of the Community Building. Mr'. Griggs stated that the estimated cost for remodeling the ceiling is $1774.00 and he recommends approval of this project. New 1 ight fixtures of the gym type w i I I be $1600.64. Councilman Copher moved to concur with the recommendation of the Park and Recreation Committee and City Manager and approve the expenditure for remodeling the gymnasium ceiling. Councilman Warren seconded the motion and the vote i s as follows: Ayes: Councilmen Copher, Warren, Douglass, and Wilcox Nays: None Mayor Krause declared the motion carried. IV, ORDINANCE NO. 420: FINAL READING APPROVING RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TRINITY RIVER AUTHORITY REVENUE BONDS, SERIES 1972, $575,000.00 Mayor Krause stated that this Ordinance is for approval of a Resolution authorizing $575,000.00 Trinity River - Authority Revenue Bonds as the first step in the purchase of water. City Attorney Cribbs stated he has reviewed the Ordinance and recommends approval. Councilman Douglass moved to concur with the recommendation of the City Attorney and approve Ordinance No. 420. LETTER CF APPRECIATION TO POLICE RESERVE OFFICER RUSSELL CRAWFORD Councilman Wilcox moved that a letter of appreciation be presented to Mr. Russell Crawford recently resigned, for years of service in the Police Reserve Unit. Councilman Douglass seconded the motion and the vote i s as follows: Ayes: Councilmen Wilcox, Douglass, Warren, and Copher Nays: None Mayor" Krause declared the motion carried. VI. CITY MANAGER COMMENDED FOR CIVIC CENTER COMPLEX LETTERING Councilman Douglass expressed appreciation to City Manager Griggs for the lettering on the Civic Center Buildings. Members of the Council concurred with the expression of appreciation by Councilman Douglass. M" MAYOR'S NEWSLETTER Councilman Douglass stated that several citizens have inquired about the Mayor's Newsletter; considered it informative and appreciated receiving it. Mayor Krause stated he is preparing a newsletter for distribution in the next week. VIII. CITIZEN EXPRESSES - APPRECIATION TO COUNCIL'IMEMBERS Mr. Don Raper, 306 Sixpence, stated that he and several of his neighbors in the Somerset Place Addition will assist the encumbent councilmen in their bid for re- election in the April 8, election in appreciation for the council's concern in the recent zoning case in their neighborhood.
