Regular Meeting
Euless City Council
March 7, 1955
The Council met in regular session at
7:30 p.m., on March 7, 1955• Present were Mayor Pro -tem Ernest Millican, Jr.,
Councilmen A. E . T i l l e r y , W. H. Fuller, M. L. Anders, and J. S. Anderson.
Minutes of the previous meeting on
February 28, 1955 were read and unanimously approved.
Ordinance No. 31 was immediately considered.
This ordinance provides for the annexation of certain tracts of land belonging
to F. 0. Genseke, Almon C. Brown, and S. W. M i I I s o r h i s successor. A l l tracts
are contiguous to the present city boundaries. On motion by A. E. Tillery and
second by M. L. Anders this ordinance was adopted by majority vote. (Copy of

Next the Council examined and discussed
at length Ordinance Nos. 27, 28, 29, and 30. In due time it was agreed that
each would be considered separately and in numerical order. Following are
the results:
On motion by A. E. Tillery and second by
M. L. Anders, Ordinance No. 27 was adopted by unanimous vote. This is known
as a health and sanitation ordinance.
In considering Ordinance No. 28, no one
saw fit to move its adoption and it was tabled for further study.
On motion by W. H. F u l l e r and second by
M. L. Anders, Ordinance No. 29 was adopted by unanimous vote. This provides
for compulsory fi I i n g of annual financial statements of gross receipts by
all utility companies, of individuals, doing business in the city limits and
further providing that all such companies shall pay to the city an annual tax
of at least 2 %. This ordinance, however, shall not conflict with any franchise
now in force and shall not apply to the company or individual now furnishing
water in the Cresthaven Addition until 1957 at which time this company, or
individual, shall be included, the tax to become applicable in this case
January 1, 1957.
On motion by A. E. Tillery and second by
W. H. Fuller, Ordinance No. 30 was adopted by unanimous vote. This ordinance
regulates the cutting and repairing of streets, alleys, sidewalks, and water
or sewer lines within the city.
