HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-10-05 Regular Meeting Parks and Leisure Services Board October 5,2020 CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2020 in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall building by Chairman Randy Jones. Other Board Members present: Roger Sickler, Steve Doty, Jason Reyes, Magen Brown, Isha Sharma and Kay Seger. Members absent:John Raab. Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald, Parks Manager Daniel Dearborn, Parks Superintendent Ryan Turner, Recreation Superintendent Elizabeth Johnson and Administrative Secretary Myndi Muncy. Visitors present: No visitors. INVOCATION Roger Sickler gave the invocation. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Chairman Randy Jones asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the February 3, 2020 regular meeting. Mr. Doty made the motion to approve the minutes as presented and was seconded by Mr. Reyes. The vote was unanimous. I. Board Member Reports a. Business of the Tree Board Tree Board Chairman Jason Reyes reported the following for January: a. Total man hours for September 1-30=794 • 362.00 Horticulture • 197.00 Forestry • 132.00 Greenhouse • 88.00 Special Projects • 15.00 Training > Boy Scouts stepped up the Arbor Daze trees into 1 gallon pots. > Removed a tree on Fair Oaks and on West Pipeline. > Cleared and trimmed trees at the new lot by J.A. Carr Park. IV. Staff Report—Elizabeth Johnson • New recreation programs and virtual classes. • Upcoming virtual events. V. Directors Report—Ray McDonald • Staffing updates for the Parks Department. • Park upgrades and repairs. • Boy Scout projects. • Library and median landscaping. • PATS stage VII updates.
