MINU 1'ES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE
LIBRARY BOARD
THURSDAY,FEBRUARY 4,2021
ITEM NO. 1 CALLED TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Euless Library Board was called to order by Chairperson Snitz at 7:00
p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021, in the Meeting Room of the Library, 201 N Ector Drive.
Those present included Chairperson Barney Snitz,Board Members Jim Hamilton, Jorge Chac,and
Chris McAllister. Board Members Mavy Wright, Rochelle Ragas, and Mike McGehee and Vice
Chairperson Allan Gibbs were not present.

VISITORS
No visitors were present.
ITEM NO. 2 APPROVED LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES
Chairperson Snitz asked for a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held January 7,
2021. The motion was made by Board Member McAllister and seconded by Board Member
Hamilton. All were in favor and the motion carried.
ITEM NO. 3 WELCOMED VISITORS
Chairperson Snitz initiated introductions with the new board members and welcomed all that were
present.
ITEM NO. 4 PRESENTED LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT
❖ Library Update
Library Director Sherry Knight gave an overview of feedback from citizens and visitors to the
library. Chairperson Snitz inquired about the attendance of school-aged children and Ms. Knight
stated that it was not as high as it was pre-pandemic but that it is growing daily.
Board Member McAllister inquired about negative feedback. Ms. Knight stated the few she had
received.
Board Member Hamilton inquired about the patron app use and Ms. Knight stated that it has
recently increased in downloads and usage.
Board Member McAllister commented on the details that he noticed when touring the library. Ms.
Knight mentioned the options of different spaces and ways to use and enjoy the library.

❖ Digital Resources Update
Ms. Knight gave an overview of various digital resources that the library has available to patrons
so they may enjoy the library from home.
❖ Classes &Events Update
Ms. Knight gave an overview of new adult virtual programming and discussed transitioning to in-
person programs in the summer once the COVID-19 situation is manageable. Ms. Knight also
reviewed the latest statistical report. Ms. Knight informed the board that the library now circulates
jigsaw puzzles and plans to add to the collection through community donations. Ms. Knight
informed the board that the library received the TMLDA award and that the library was recognized
for the PACER project that they helped with.
Board Member McAllister inquired about attendance and Ms. Knight stated that it was low, but
within expectations due to the pandemic.
Board Member Hamilton inquired about some details of the statistical report and Ms. Knight
clarified the numbers.
Board Member Chac inquired about resources to aid high school students in preparing for college
and Ms. Knight listed those resources.
Chairperson Snitz inquired about the health of former city officials.

Chairperson Snitz commented on how the library is very modern and fantastic.

Not present.
Library Board Members
Board Member McAllister complimented the FabEuless Memories tile mural along with the iPad
that gives you more information.
ITEM NO. 7 PUBLIC COMMENTS
None.
ITEM NO. 8 ADJOURNMENT
Chairperson Snitz asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Board Member
Hamilton and seconded by B and Member Chac. The meeting was adjourned at 7:46 p.m.
