A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE WAIVER OF BUILDING PERMIT FEES FOR
REPAIRS TO PROPERITES DAMAGED BY ADVERSE WINTER
WEATHER CONDITIONS THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 14, 2021;
DECLARING A PUBLIC PURPOSE; AND AUTHORIZING THE WAIVER
OF SAID FEES FOR APPLICATIONS RECEIVED BETWEEN MARCH 10
AND MAY 7; AND AUTHORIZING THE REBATE OF RELATED PERMIT
FEES PAID BETWEEN FEBRUARY 19 AND MARCH 9, 2021.
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council (the "City Council") finds and
determines that recent severe winter weather during the week of February 14, 2021,
(the "Winter Storm") has caused widespread and severe property damage in the City;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that it is in the best interest of
the public and in support of the health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens that
permit fees be waived for construction or other work required to repair damage caused
by the Winter Storm in order to encourage the quick and efficient recovery and repair;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that it is in the public interest to
rebate building permit fees associated with the work to repair said damage that were paid
prior to the approval of this resolution.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager, or his designee, to waive
and/or rebate fees for permit applications associated with the repair of property damage
caused by the winter storm.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on
March 9, 2021, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and Q abstentions.
