Within a very short period of time, the City of Euless lost two of our Lifetime Achievement Award winners. Richard McNeese and Helen Voss both passed away in February. Richard was a vital member of the Planning and Zoning Board. However, his dedication and service to our City surpassed 35 years. He has also volunteered on the Parks and Leisure Services Board as well as the Capital Improvement Advisory Committee. Last year, Richard received Euless’ Lifetime Achievement Award for all the contributions he made to Euless. Helen contributed her talents to Euless in a variety of ways. Helen was involved in both the Euless Citizen’s Police & Fire Alumni Associations as well as the Euless Library Foundation. In addition to serving on the Historical Preservation Committee, she chaired the museum committee in 2012. This large undertaking required orchestrating volunteers and organizing keepsakes before the museum opened its doors. Helen and her husband John received the Lifetime Contribution Award in 2012. Their contributions will leave a lasting impact on our City and they will both be greatly missed.
