APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Consider approval of the following Teen Court Advisory Board minutes:

Robin Edwards made a motion to approve the January 7, 2021 regular meeting minutes and
Renu Sloan seconded the motion and all were in favor.
2. Introductions
Introductions were done.
OLD BUSINESS
3. Discuss Fundraising Options.
Chairperson David Lawwill mentioned he had been researching about online fundraising platforms and
narrowed it down to two different ones, GoFundMe and Fundly. Mr. Lawwill mentioned that Fundly was
the easiest platform to use where a link could be sent to friends with sponsorship or donation options
and the fees would be taken from the organization not added to the donor. An example is a donor
donates $100 and the organization sees $92 where an 8% fee per donation goes back to Fundly.
Advisory Board Members are a "team" and can individually send out emails to family, friends, and
potential sponsors. Fundly is easy to set up and the administrator of the funds can be easily assigned
to anyone. Joe Robinson mentioned that the City of Euless has a monthly newsletter that goes out with
the water bill and he would be able to get with Betsy Deck (Assistant to City Manager). Teen Court
Coordinator Mindy Eichorst mentioned that each city has their website and social platforms that it can
also be added to. There are several options for donor sponsorship and the question came up of what to
include with each of the different sponsorship levels. There were suggestions of ride4ongs with the
Police Chief and Fire Chief of each of the cities or lunch with the City Manager or Mayor of each of the
cities.
City of Euless Councilman Eddie Price mentioned he would ask the Euless Chiefs, City Manager and
Mayor if they would be interested. Renu Sloan mentioned that the City of Euless has always been very
generous and gracious with assisting for silent auction items. City of Hurst City Secretary Rita Frick
mentioned she would check with her City Manager for a few other options as sponsorship options.
Joe Robinson mentioned he was working with Betsy Deck and Lance Moran (AV Production teacher
with HEBISD) to produce a few informational videos for teens who are interested in volunteering and
teens who have received citations. Teen Court Coordinator Mindy Eichorst mentioned she would get
with a few of the teen volunteers to see if they were interested in being interviewed. She also
mentioned that she has put out a request via social media platforms for all past Scholarship Recipients
to contact her to "see where they are now".
Teen Court Coordinator Mindy Eichorst mentioned she would need to check with the City of Bedford
Finance Department about how to set up the account to be tied with the Teen Court Scholarship Fund.
She also mentioned she would need to check with each of the cities to make sure that this fundraising
option is acceptable.
