Euless City Council
March 18, 1975
CALL TO ORDER
The called meeting of the Euless City
Council was called to order at 8:10 P.M, in the Council Chamber of Euless
City Hall by Mayor Pro Tem Harold Samuels. Members present were Mrs.
Willie Mae McCormick; Messrs. Ray Ozebek, Harold Copher, and Wayne Wright.
(Absent: Mayor A. C. Krause.)
Also present were City Manager W. M.
Sustaire, and City Secretary Della Houy.
VISITORS
Visitors present were as follows:
Messrs. Hal C. Ferguson, and Grady McAdoo; Mesdms. Dena Anderson, Carolyn
Griffin, and Sue Ferguson.
INVOCATION
The invocation was given by Mr. Harold
Samuels.

ORDINANCE NO. 482 CALLING
CHARTER AMENDMENT ELECTION
TO BE HELD ON APRIL 19. 1975
Mayor Pro Tem Samuels stated the Charter
Amendment Committee has submitted an ordinance on proposed City Charter
Amendments.
Mr. Ozebek moved to suspend the require-
ment for two (2) separate ordinance readings and pass Ordinance No. 482 on
first and final reading for an election to be held on April 19, 1975 on nine
(9) amendments to the Euless City Charter except striking Amendment No. 1
which reads as follows:
"To amend Section 1, Article II of the City Charter of the City of Euless,
Texas, to delete the last sentence of the first paragraph thereof and to
substitute in lieu therof the following: "Said Mayor and Councilmen shall
draw compensation for each regular meeting of the Euless City Council attended
in an amount of $30.00 for each such meeting attended by the Mayor and an
amount of $20.00 for each such meeting attended by each Councilman. Said
Mayor and Councilman shall be additionally reimbursed for any lawful expendi-
tures made in behalf of the City or expenses incurred in the performance of
their office duties, when approved by the Council."

Mrs. McCormick seconded the motion and
the vote is as follows:
Ayes: Mr. Ozebek, Mrs. McCormick, Messrs. Copher, Wright, and Samuels
Nays: None
Mayor Pro Tem Samuels declared the motion
carried.
Mayor Pro Tem Samuels read a letter from
Mr. Blease Tibbets, Chairman of the Charter Amendment Committee as follows:
"On behalf of the members of the Charter Amendment Committee, may I
express to you our appreciation for this appointment. We enjoyed studying
the Charter, and are happy to submit herewith the amendments we feel need
to be adopted.
As you know, Mr. Robert McFarland, City Attorney, has worked very
closely with us; and we want you to know how much we appreciate his cooperation.
Enclosed you will find copies of changes which our committee proposes
for your consideration."
Mr. Ozebek stated the Committee should
be commended for their fine job on these charter amendments, and each member
should be sent a letter of commendation.
Mr. Copher stated the Council members
have discussed being compensated for their mileage to meetings they attend,
and they have decided each member could keep an account of their mileage
and turn in a travel voucher to be reimbursed, but the members feel they
should not be compensated for just attending meetings.
