HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-06-13 Town Hall MtgTOWN HALL MEETING EULESS CITY HALL THURSDAY, JUNE 13, 2013 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Pro Tem Leon Hogg called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. COUNCIL AND STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT Mayor Pro Tem Leon Hogg, Council Members Tim Stinneford, Linda Martin, Linda Eilenfeldt, Glenn Porterfield, and Perry Bynum participated in the panel along with City Manager Gary McKamie and Deputy City Manager Loretta Getchell. Additional staff members present included: City Secretary Kim Sutter, Police Chief Mike Brown, Fire Chief Wes Rhodes, Director of Finance Janina Jewell, Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald, Assistant Police Chief Bob Freeman, Police Captains Gary Landers, Steve Eskew and Steve Kockos, Communications and Marketing Manager Betsy Deck, Library Administrator Sherry Knight, Police Lieutenants Wayne Pavlik, John Williams, and Joe Kraft, Fire Inspector 11 Charles Anderson, Public Works Manager JT Ackerman, Technical Services Manager Gary Gregg, and Texas Star Conference Center Manager Magen Morton. VISITORS Vince Bassett, Lisa Bynum, Charles Cinquemania, John and Carmen Dietloff, Dad Easton, Iris Elliott, Kathy Haecker, Jan Hogg, Jerrie Keller, Joe Mapes, John Schleeter, Bamey Snitz, Faye Stinneford, Helen Voss, Warren Wilson, Harry Zimmer, and approximately 30 other citizens. TOPICS OF DISCUSSION City Manager Gary McKamie welcomed those in attendance. Deputy City Manager Loretta Getchell presented the overall current fiscal condition of the City and a summary of the budget for Fiscal Year 2013 -2014. Among the items of note was that the Trinity River Authority (TRA) has advised there is expected to be a small increase in the water rates, and wastewater rates will be increased by 23 cents per 1,000 gallons. At this time, attendees were given an opportunity to address questions to the City Council and city staff. Carr Park trails Condition of Main Street bridge over State Highway 183 Swimming pool entry fees Addition of School Crossing Guard at Glade Road and Baze Road Request for document shredding City Mosquito Abatement program Status of the Glade Parks development Council e-mail addresses Airing of City Council meetings on cable network and intemet Each of the council members expressed their appreciation for the citizens' attendance and input to the discussion.
