HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955-05-09• Regular Meeting Euless City Council May 9, 1955 The Council met in regular session at 7:30 p.m., May 9, 1955. Present were Mayor Jimmy C. Payton, and Councilmen A. E. Tillery, M. L. Anders, W. H. Fuller, Ernest Millican, Jr., and J. S. Anderson. Minutes of previous meetings on April 11, 18, and 25, 1955 were read and approved by unanimous vote. Various matter concerning the City were brought up, discussed, and disposed of as follows: Mayor Payton suggested that the Council consider the matter mandatory street improvements in future subdivisions developed within the City. After due discussion, Ernest Millican, Jr., moved that Mayor Payton have Attorney Gleeson prepare an ordinance restricting future developments to paved or black top streets with curbs and gutters. W. H. Fuller offered a second and the vote was unanimously in favor. The Council requested Mayor Payton to contact Mr. Wisenbaker in an effort to get larger and sufficient water lines l a i d i n Cedar H i l l Estates in an effort to alleviate the inconvenience, and eliminate the sanitation hazard existing there due to insufficient water. On a motion by Ernest Millican, Jr., and a second by M. L. Anders, the Council voted unanimously to circulate a petition of annexation among certain residents adjoining our most recent annexation on the west side. Cn a motion by Ernest Millican Jr., with a second by W. H. Fuller, the Council voted unanimously to open an account at the First National Bank, Arlington, Texas, for future deposits, the present account at Arlington State Bank to be closed eventually when present funds on deposit there are checked out.
