Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the minutes of
June 6, 2013 meeting. Marcia Brown made the motion to accept the minutes and Barney Snitz seconded the
motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee welcomed all of the visitors to the meeting.
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM GARY McKAMIE: Gary McKamie, City Manager for the City of Euless,
announced to the board that Sherry Knight has been offered, and accepted, the position as Library
Administrator.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Sherry Knight reviewed the library stats with the board members.
Sherry reported that Stasha Barriere cleaned and refurbished the purple Hippo book bin, and repainted the green
Crocodile book bin in the Youth Department. Stasha also repainted 19 step stools.
Several staff members have been busy visiting schools with the SRC information and participated with the
Parks Department movie in the park. We handed out library promotional items, information on the SRC, and
signed up new library accounts.
Summer Reading Club registration(as of 6/6/13): Youth-157
Adult-75
Sherry shared with the board that over the next few months we will be looking into e-books and other digital
media to see where we want to be and what will work best for our library. We will also be looking at a
magazine publication website called Zinio. The magazines can be downloaded to i-pads and other devices.
DISCUSSIONS:
1. Mike McGehee passed around the thank you note from Kate Lyon.
2. The library board unanimously supports the selection of Sherry Knight as the Library Administrator.

1. LuAnn Portugal congratulated Sherry Knight on her new position as Library Administrator.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Barney Snitz and seconded by
Beverly Leake. The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
