HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955-05-16to WWA Called Meeting Euless City Council May 16, 1955 The Council met in special session at 7:30 p.m., May 16, 1955. Present were Mayor Jimmy C. Payton, and Councilmen A. E. Tillery, W. H. Fuller, Ernest Millican, Jr., and J. S. Anderson. The main purpose of the meeting was to consider Ordinance No. 39, which ordinance amends Ordinance No. 28, which is generally known as the building code for the City. After due discussion, on a motion by Ernest Millican, Jr., and second by A. E. Tillery, the Council adopted this said Ordinance No. 39 by unanimous vote. Its provisions makes it unlawful for any u t i I i ty company to give service to any new construction within the City until such prospective cusomers secures a b u i l d i n g permit. (Copy o f Ordinance No. 39 on f i l e in Office of City Secretary.) Next Ordinance No. 37 was brought to the attention of the Council by Mayor Payton, who, as usual, read the entire document. This ordinance legally provides for a Fire Marshal and outlines his duties as an appointive officer of the City in compliance with State Laws.
