HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-05-18 (1:1; MEETING of the BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING May 18, 1964 The Board of Adjustment held first meeting at the City Hall at 7:30 p.m. Board members present were Wal- ter Hicks, Robert Baker, Paul Gates, Herschel Morgan; Herger Massey was not present. Also present were Jack Bullard, City Inspector and James Cribbs, City Attorney. Bob Bakerivolunteered the services of his daughter to take minutes at Board Meetings. The City Attorney explained the function of the board. The regular meeting date of the Board of Adjustments was set for the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.. Paul Gates was elected chairman of the board by acclama- tion. ORDINANCE NO. 33. Jack Bullard, City Inspector, passed out copies of Ordinance 33 and amendments to Ordinance No. 33. I. REQUEST FOR WATERMELON STAND A request for a watermelon stand on Highway 183 across from TP&L was made by Joe Wellborn and Jack Burnett. A Motion was made by Herschel Morgan to allow this stand to operate 120 days from date of opening. Operator to have covered garbage cans, painted tables and front screened area where melons are sliced. Property to be kept clean around area of tables. The motion was seconded and passed. II. REQUEST FCR FRUIT STAND Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Duckett requested a permit for a fruit stand on North Main Street. A motion was made by Herschel Morgan to have operator of the proposed stand appear at the next meeting. The motion was seconded and passed. III. REQUEST FCR TEMPORARY BUILDINGS Jim Puckett presented a request for two (2) temporary buildings facing Carter Drive (1) to contain office space and (2) to contain fruit stand with canopy. The motion was seconded and carried. IV. FILING FEE A motion was made by Walter Hicks to set the Filing Fee at fifteen ($15.00) dollars and no/100 for the Board of Adjustment. The motion was seconded and carried. V. ADJOURNMENT Walter Hicks made a motion to ad- journ the meeting. The meeting was adjourned by consent of the members present APPROVED: et.J s .
