REGULAR MEETING
of the
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
April 14, 1965
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Boatd of
Adjustment was called to order by the Chairman, Paul Gates, Members
present were: Messrs. Herger Maesey, Herschel Morgan, Walter Hicks and
Robert Baker.
Also present, Jack Bullard, City In-
spector and James Cribbs, City Attorney..
Visitors present were: Messrs, Earl
Ash, Chas, Hudel, Thompson P. Magee, Donald Campbell, Jr., R. J. Thanes,
D.V.M., Floyd H. Patterson, J. H. Brown, Glenn D. Walker, Joseph F. Wyats,
W. A. Lanford, J. C. Davis, B. D. Hoffman, Jr. and Mmes. Charles Hudel and
Evans.
PRESENTATION OP MINUTES
The minutes of the previous meeting
were read and approved.
OLD BUSINESS
I.
A. Public Hearing, Case No, 6. - Richard J. Thomes, D.V.P.1. - Request
for improvement of building and advertisement of business on a
Part of Tract 12 of the Ray Shelton Sub-division.
PROPONENTS: (Statements of five individuals concerning treatment
of animals at the hospital on North Main, Euless,
Texas, hereby made a part of the Minutes).
Dr, Richard J. Thanes wants to brick building, wants
to keep some horses on place and build pens for dogs at back of
lot.
Mr. J.C. Davis represents Ellie E. Dunn, has had
business with Dr. Thomes since 1961-62.
Mr, J. A, Brown, from Irving, has used Dr. Thomes
for pregnant mares. In 1963, Dr. Thomas castrated a colt for
Mr. Brown.
Mr. B, D. Hoffman, Jr., of Irving, had a dog which
had pups (delivered) by Dr, Thomes,
Mrs. Evans from Irving has had Dr. Themes to doctor
her dogs in 1963.

Mr. Tom Magee seems to think if it was established as
being there before zoning, should be left there providing it is
kept clean and quiet.
Mr. Earl Ash has petition from 25 people which is
against this and says he hasnit heard of anything of animal clinic
before this came up before the Council. On April 14, 1964, he
bought a home from Dr. Thomes and Dr.. Thomes did not say anything
about animal hospital being put there.
(At this time, Mr. Floyd Patterson, attorney for Dr.
Thames; Made a statement).
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 P•M.
by general consent of the members.

EXECUTIVE SESSION OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
April 15, 1965
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by the
Chairman.
Mr, Walter Hicks made a motion to deny
the request for improvement of building and advertisement of a business.
Applicant proposes to operate a business in a residential area and has
constructed animal hold pens without the sanction of the City of Euless.
Applicant orally requested to erect four additional animal holding pens
and obviously intends to change the character of use of the property to
other than residential. The motion was seconded by Herschel Morgan. The
motion passed unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made for adjournment by
Herschel Morgan; received a second by Herger Massey. The motion carried
unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
