REGULAR MELTING
of the
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
January 17, 1966
CALL TO ORDER I.
The regular meeting of the Board of Adjustment was
called to order by the Chairman, Paul Gates at 7:30 p.m. in the Council
Chambers of the City Hall.
Members present were Messrs. Walter Hicks, Don McNeil,
Glen Walker end Bob Baker.
Also present, Jack Bullard, City Inspector.
Visitors present were as follows, Messrs. Herman Smith
and 0, Q. Whitley and Mr, and Mrs, B. C, King
PRESENTATION OF MINUTES II,
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the
Secretary; minutes approved as read.
NEW BUSINESS III
A, Public Heating - Case # 9 - C6 Q. Whitley -request for Day Nursery
on Tract A, Block 3, Wilshire Village No, 7,
Mr,; Whitley appeared before the Board and was asked to state his '
request. Mr, Whitley reiterated the area is zoned for apartments,
and further stated the structure will be brick with a Circular
Drive and will have a playyard at the rear of the property. A
plot plan and floor plan were submitted for review,
It Was stated that the children will be outside on pretty days,
one hour in the mornings and one hour in the afternnon. There will
be a mssimum of 65 children.
Some children will go to Elementary school and will only be at the
Nursery for the following hours, 7 230 to 8230 !►.m« and 2130 to 5t30
p.m, It Was stated 30% of the enrollment is in the category.
It Was noted that a twelve (12) foot R.O.W, on each side of Wilshire
Drive will be observed for future use in making Wilshire Drive a
future thoroughfare..
3-seated Station wagons and/or buses will be used for transportation;
most traffic will be from 7 to 8 a.m. and from 4230 to 6 p.m,
average cars on hand will be 6 or 7 at a time; the school will open
at 6 a.m, and close at 6 p.m.; the school will furnish two-thirds of
the daily diet,

Mr. and Mrs, King appeared in opposition to the request.
ADJOURNMENT IV.
Adjournment was by general consent of the members.
EXECUTIVE SESSION V,
The Board met in executive session for general discussion of the
applicants request.
A motion was made by Don McNeil to approve the request; motion seconded
by halter Hicks. The followin; stipulations to apply:
14 Stockade fence of cedar or cypiets around play area of 6z height,,
(Smooth side turned in)
2, Final Building plans to be submitted to building inspector for
approval.
3. Street completion on Wilshire before construction begins,
the vote was as follows: - unanimous - the chairman declared the motion carried,
The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m. by general consent of the members.
