Board of Adjustment
December 22 , 1 969
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 7:40
P. M. in the Council Chambers of Euless City Hall , with Chairman Henry Uselton
presiding. Members present are listed , as follows: Messers . Robert Noonan,
Glen Walker, Bob Baker and Uselton. (Absent: Mr. Bob Jones) .
Also present was City Inspector Jack Bullard .
VISITORS
Mr. H. L. Smith was present as a representative
for Sabine Valley Lumber Company, Inc.

PUBLIC HEARING, APPEAL FROM SABIN E
VALLEY LUMBER COMPANY INC. FOR
ISSUANCE OF J BUILDING PERMIT FOR,
ADDITION TO STRUCTURE LOCATED AT
202 HEATHER DRIVE.
Chairman Uselton opened the Public Hearing on
Board of Adjustment Case No. 15 , to consider an appeal from Sabine Valley Lumber
Cori;pany, Inc. for issuance of a building permit for an addition to the existing
structure located at 902 Heather Drive. (The original request for a building permit
was denied by the City Inspector because plans for the proposed addition are in
violation with the front yard set-back requirements as set forth in Section 7-502,
Paragraph 1 , City of Euless Zoning Ordinance No. 347.)
Chairman Uselton recognized Mr. H. L. Smith ,
representing Sabine Valley Lumber Company, Inc.
Mr. Smith Stated that his firm requests con-
sideration of a building permit for the enclosure of an existing porch located on
the building at 902 Heather , which is occupied by Quickway Stampings , Inc. Mr. Smith
stated further that the proposed enclosure will be used as a reception room -- that
the offices used by Quickway Stampings , Inc. are so small they cannot receive ap-
plications for employment in a proper manner; therefore , this request was made in an
effort to alleviate the situation temporarily. Mr. Smith advised that the firm pro-
poses an expansion program for the entire building, at some future date -- that he
does not know if it will be six months or two years from this time.
Chairman Uselton asked Mr. Smith if other land
is availab:e adjacent to the existing building, on which an office could be con-
structed.
Mr. Smith replied affirmatively and explained
that , due to the cost of construction , they do not desire to build on it at this
time.

Members of the Board reviewed the City's
Zoning Ordinance.
Chairman Uselton asked if there were others
who desired to speak concerning this request.
There being none , the Public Hearing was
closed.
Chairman Uselton advised Mr. Smith that his
firm would be advised concerning the decision of this Board.
(Mr. Smith left the Council Chambers at this time.)
Members of the Board of Adjustment discussed
the case briefly.
Mr. Walker moved to deny Sabine Valley Lumb,.
Ccmpany's appeal for a permit for the proposed addition to the structure located
902 Heather Drive. Mr. Baker seconded the motion, and the vote is as follows:
Ayes: Messers. Walker , Baker , Noonan and Uselton
Nays: None
Chairman Uselton declared the motion carried .

the meeting was adjourned .
