Regular Meeting
Euless City Council
June 13, 1955
The City Council met in regular session
at 7:30 p.m., June 13, 1955• Present were Mayor Jimmy C. Payton, and
Councilmen A. E. Tillery, Ernest Millican, Jr., W. H. Fuller, and J. S.
Anderson. Also present were Mr. C. D. Nichols of Johnson - Campbell Lumber
Company.
Minutes of the previous meetings on May
9, 1955 and May 16, 1955, were read and approved.
At the May 9th meeting, the Council, by
formal motion, authorized Mayor Payton to have an ordinance drawn restricting
future subdivision to paved or hard topped streets with curbs and gutters.
This ordinance was brought to the attention of the Council as Ordinance No.
40. After much discussion, the prevailing attitudes was that the matter
should be studied further. So, on a motion by Mr. Anderson, with a second
by Mr. Tillery, the ordinance was tabled by unanimous vote. It was agreed
that each member of the Council would give some immediate thought to the
matter, a copy of the ordinance having been furnished each member, and be
prepared to make a definite decision in the near future, possibly at a
called meeting during the month.
On a motion by A. E. Tillery, with a second
by W. H. Ful ler, the Council voted unanimously to grant building permits,
J w with all prevailing restrictions, to churches, schools, hospitals, etc.
without charge.
The meeting adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
