CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Planning
and Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by the chairman,
Edward Smith. The following members were present: Bert Heyl, J. A. Hor-
ton and LaVern Lee. Not present, Henry Uselton.
Also present were Jack Bullard, City
Inspector, Bill Ratliff, City Engineer and Fannie Gorman, Recording
Secretary.
Visitors present were Kenneth English,
of the Engineering firm of Reaves Gregory & Knowlton; 0. W, Miller, James
Lucas, 0, S. Dobkins and Warren Fuller.
PRESENTATION OF MINUTES
The minutes of the previous meeting
were read by the secretary. The minutes were approved as read.
I.
NEW BUSINESS
a. Request for building permit - Guif Oil Company - In compliance with
a recent request, the Commercial Building permit was presented to the
Commission for a recommendation. Ordinance No. 168 was referred to
regarding the maximum storage of Tasoline (20,000) gallons at any one
retail service station. The station will be located on the Northeast
corner of the intersection of Wilshire Drive and Highway 183. After
discussion Bert Heyl made a motion to approve the request. The motion
was seconded by J. A. Horton. The motion passed unanimously.
b. Request for building permit Dalworth Oil Company - Warren Fuller
appeared before the Commission in reg ds to a request for a service
station on a tract 110 by 150.9 feet in the J. P, Halford Survey. It
was noted by the chairman that the property is presently zoned Local
Business. The chairman stated he had no objection to the service
station, but did not approve of the non-conforming use of the land.
This was presented in the form of a motion by LaVern Lee, was seconded
by J, A. Horton. The motion passed unanimously.
II.
OTHER BUSINESS
Mr. James Lucas appeared before the
CIL Commission with a request for an endorsement by the Commission on a
proposal for a road from the Dallas County Line to Highway 121 in Tarrant
County to run North of Euless (Old Dallas-Harwood Rd„) The road would
have an eighty (80) foot right-of-way.
Mr. Searcy Dobkins, appearing in be-.
half of the plan, stated it is good planning to propose another road
inasmuch as the growth is predicted for the Northern section of Euless,
and suggested the Central Cities come out and say what is needed and
wanted in order to obtain County and State support.

The Planning & Zoning Commission recommends to t:_e City Council that an
investigation of the possibilities for a road ctendin7, from the Dallas
County Line to Highway 121 be made if help from the County is possible.
The motion was seconded by J. A. Horton and parsed unanimously.
