OF THE
PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION
July 7, 1964
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Planning
and Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:30 by the chairman, Ed-
ward Smith. The following members were in attendance: Bert Heyl, Henry
Uselton, J. A. Horton and LaVern Lee.
Also present were Fannie Gorman, re-
cording secretary and Mr.and Mrs. C. E. Holt, visitors.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the previous meeting
were read by the Secretary, LaVern Lee. The minutes were approved as
read.
REQUEST FOR REZONING -Public Hearings
I. Zoning Case #130 - Searcy Dobkins- The Commission considered the
request for rezoning a part of the Kitty House Survey between Pipeline
Road and Highway 183 from Residential to Commercial. Mr, and Mrs. C.
E. Holt were in attendance and were shown the proposed area to be zon-
ed. They were not opposed to the zoning, but wished to be informed on
the exact location, as they owned property in the general area. A motion
was made by Bert Heyl to approve the Zoning request. The motion was sec-
onded by Henry Uselton. The motion passed unanimously.
II. Zoning Case #129 - First Baptist Church - The request for rezoning
property Beginning at a point in the West R.O.W.. Line of North Main Street
from Residential to Commercial was tabled by the chairman at the request
of the City Inspector, as there was found to be an error in Exhibit A.
There were no proponents or opponents present at the meeting. Alter Hor-
ton made a motion to table the Zoning Case. The motion was seconded by
LaVern Lee. The motion passed unanimously.

III, Zoning Case #127 - M. L. Tillery - The request for rezoning pro-
perty in the J. P. Halford Survey from Residential to Local Bttbiness
was considered by the Commission. There were no opponents or proponents
to the proposal.. A motion for approval was made by Henry Belton. The

IV. Zoning Case #128 - Andrew Himes - The request for rezoning proper-
ty in the J. P. Halford Survey beginning at a point in the West R.O.W.
line of North Main Street from Residential to Commer4i.al was considered

by the Commission. There were no proponents or opponents to the request.
Bert Heyl made a motion that the request be approved. LaVern Lee seconded
the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
V. The Commission discussed the Zoning Ordinance, completed their recom-
mendations to it and asked the secretary to have the minutes reflect a
recommendation to the City Council for adoption as it now stands. This
was made into a motion by Bert Heyl, seconded by Alter Horton and carried
unanimously.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 10:20 p.m,
by general consent of the members.
