,,;special Organizational meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission met
on Friday May 5, 1961 at 7 :00 PM. The members of the Commission present
were Warren Fuller, Al Simmons, Ed Smith and Dan Peters. Mayor J. S. Adderson
sat in the meeting as temporary chairman.

The temporary chairman asked for a motion on election of Chairman of the
Planning & Zoning Commission. Mr. Al Simmons made a motion that Warren
Fuller as Chairman and Dan Peters as Secretary be elected by acclamation.
Seconded by Ed Smith. The motion carried by unanimous vote.

After election of officers and propert taking of oath of all members of the
Commission, the Commission prepared to consider regular business.

The Commission held public hearing on Final Approval of Change of Zoning
Designation to Zone "C" Commercial by request of Mr. E.H. Masser, owner on
2 acres of land out of the A.J. Huitt Survey. No protest evidenced by any-
one, the Commission again considered the zoning designation. Motion by Al
Simmons, seconded by Ed Smith to approve the Zoning change as requested.
Motion carried unanimously.

The Commission held public hearing on Final consideration of Change of
Zoning request to District "B" Local Business of Tract "A", Block 10, Oak-
wood Terrace Addition, 4th Filing. Mr. T.G. Roper, spokesman for a group of
homeowners voiced considerable objection to the change. After due eonsideratior
the Commission decided to defer any action on the zoning change request until
the owners of the property under consideration will stipulate to the Commissior
what business establishment will be constructed and what business use will be
made of the property, and anotiter public hearing be held at such time. Motion
made accordingly by Ed Smith and seconded by Al Simmons. All members present
voted in favor of it.

Commission held public hearing on Final consideration of Change in
oning Designation to Zone "B" Local Business of Tracts "B" "C" "D" E" "F"
"G" "H" "I" akd "J" out of the J. P. Halford Survey. No public objection to
such request was evidenced. Motion by Al Simmons to give final approval as
requested, seconded by Ed Smith. All members present voted in favor.
