PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
March 15,1966

CA].'L TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission was called
to order by the Chairman, Henry Uselton, at 7:30 p.m. The following members
were in attendance. Messrs. LaVern Lee, Bert Heyl, Henry Uselton, and
Leonard Weber. Absent was Don Hastings. Visitors present were as follows;
Messers. M.W. Burnham, V,M, Braley, Maurice Greb, John Greb, Bill Pasteur,
B.R, Nowell, Bill Brazil, Johnny Cody, Mmes. M.V. Braley and Marvin M.
Burnham. Also present was Jack Bullard, City Inspector.
II.
PRESENTATION OF MINUTES
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary.
The minutes were approved as read.
III.
OLD BUSINESS
Zoning case #148 Public Hearing
Bill Brazill appeared for the rezoning of a tract of land out of the
J.W. Haynes Survey from "A" residental to "C" commercial. He stated
the rezoning request was for the purpose of building a 10,000 seq. ft. build-
ing for Sales and Service for Cody & Cody Engineering Company of whfich
he is a partner.
V.M. Braley opposed the petition for rezoning, stating we should use the
commercial property we all ready have instead of zoning more.
W. W. Burnham who moons the property west of highway 157 was opposed
to the zoning for the same reason.
Mrs. M.V. Burnham opposed zoning request stating she felt rezoning
of the property across from them would decrease the value of their property.
Mrs. Braley opposed the rezoning request for the same reason.
Ire Mr. Bert Hey]. stated he felt the rezoning would increase property
values in area.
Lavern Lee stated he felt all of Highway 157 would be commercial in
the future.
Mr. Heyl made motion to recommend approval of zoning request #148.
Len Weber seconded the motion.

NEW BUSINESS
A. Re!olution #59 Zoning Case #149-Miles Pierce
LaVern Lee made motion setting public hearing date for April 5,1966.
Bert Heyl seconded the motion.

B. Approaches- Pipe Line Road-Bell Manor Addition
Chairman Henry Uselton presented plat of approaches and read letter
from City Engineer Keneth English recommending approval of approaches,
letter hereby made a part of the minutes.
Mr. Weber made motion to approve approaches.
Bert Heyl seconded motion.

C. Commercial Permit #33 B.R. Nowell
Mr. B.R. Nowell appeared requesting approval of commercial permit #33.
Mr Nowell stated he was building a masonary type structure for the purpose of
his Real Estate Office, a floor company, and motor scooter sales. He also stated
there would be parking spaces for 20 to 30 cars and he would put money in escrow
for curb and gutter or any other arrangement that would be satisfactory to
the city.
Mr. Hey' Made motion to approve permit #33.
Mr. Weber seconded motion.
