PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION
December 15, 1964
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Planning
and Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:30 p.m.. by the chairman,
Edward Smith, with the following members present, J. A. Horton, Henry
Uselton, LaVern Lee and Bert Heyl.
Also present, Kenneth English, Gregory
Knowlton and Ratliff, Engineering firm, Jack Bullard, City Inspector and
Fannie Gorman, corresponding secretary.
There were no visitors present.
PRESENTATION OF MINUTES
The minutes of the previous meeting
were read by the secretary. The minutes were approved as read.
I.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Public Hearing - Warren Fuller - Zoning Case # 34' - Request for
rezoning tract of land out of the H. McCoy Survei beginning at the
intersection of the west R.O.W. of Raider Drive (Co. Rd.#3094)
with the Northerly R.O.W. line of state highway #183. There were
no opponents or proponents of the request. After examination of
Exhibit "A", the chairman asked for a motion on the request. Bert
Hey' made a motion to recommend approval of the request. The mo-
tion was seconded by J. A. Horton. The motion passed unanimously.
Resolution No. 28.
B. Wilshire Village West - John Barfield - plat approval - Kenneth
English presented the Commission with a letter concerning the
plat and street plan profile (letter hereby made a part of the
minutes) Henry Uselton made a motion to table the request in
compliance with the Engineers' recommendation until further in-
formation is available. The motion was ,cconded by Lavern Lee,
The motion passed unanimously.
C. Public Hearings
1. Zoning Case #131 - Bertha Plisko - Request for rezoning lots
tor 18 & 19, Block 14, Bell Ranch Terrace Addition from "A" $zs
idential to "C" Commercial. (This item tabled to last item on
the Agenda) After discussion, Henry Uselton made a motion to
deny the request for rezoning and refund the zoning fee as the
Commission decided to petition for a change of zoning on lots

1-19, Block 14, Bell Ranch Terrace from "A" Residential to
"C" Commercial. A Public jiearing date was set for January
19, 1965. Resolution 31, The motion was seconded by J. A.
Horton with the vote as follows:
3 ayes and 1 abstention

J. A. Horton aye
Henry Uselton aye
LaVern Lee aye
2. Zoning Case #132 - Warren Fuller, Tracts A,B and C of the J.
P. Halford Survey. Public Hearing reset for Janmry 5, 1965.
(City Council Minutes, December 8, 1964, Item I.) Motion made
by Henry Uselton, seconded by J. A. Horton. The motion passed
unanimously.
3. Zoning Case #135 - J. R. Duckett - A tract of land being the
North portion of the J. R. Duckett tract s5_tuated in the J.
P. Raiford Survey. A Public hearing was reset for January 5,
1965. Motion made by Henry Uselton, seconded by J. A. Horton.
Motion carried unanimously.
II.
NEW BUSINESS
A. Zoning Case #136 - Stanley J. Ylirr - 9.95 acres in the L. Frank-
lin Survey, from "A"- Residential to "C" Commercial. J. A. Horton
made a motion to set a public hearing for January 5, 1965. The
motion was seconded by Bert Heyl. The motion carried unanimous.l.J,

OTHER BUSINESS
A. Tucker Property - plat approval - Bert Heyl made a motion to
recommend approval of the Tucker plat as submitted by Kenneth
English. The motion was seconded by J. A. Horton. The motion
carried unanimously.
IV,
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned by general consent of the members at
8:55 p.m.
