HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-10-06 tor REGULAR T?F :LNG OF THE PLANNING ?: ZONING CCEMISSION Ck'-'be.r 6, 1964 CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order at 7130 p.m. by the chairman, Edward Smith, The following members were present: Bert Heyl, LaVern Lee. Not present, J. A. Horton and Henry Uselton. Also present were Jack Bullard, City Inspector and Fannie Gorman, recording secretary. A visitor present was John Barfield. PRESENTATION OF MINUTES The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the secretary. The minutes were approved as read. I. NEW BUSINESS A. Commercial permit #3 - J. R. Cartwright - office warehouse at 505 West Euless E1u1. - The following information was discussed concern- ing the permit. The building will be of brick and haydite, will have a set-back of 60', will have an entry into the property from the'4notel at the rear and the 46' frontage will be hardsurfaced. (There will be a solid well between the office and storage room, not shown on the plans). A motion was made by Bert Heyl to approve the request for the building permit. The motion was seconded by LaVern Lee. The motion passed unanimously. B. Commercial permit #4 - Jack W. Knight - double garage & storage at 1011 Highland Drive, Cresthaven Addition. The following infor-. mation was discussed concerning the request. The property is zoned Commercial, the building will conform to commercial requirements, will be masonry type, and a 52 offset will be allowed at the side yard. LaVern Lee made a motion to approve the request. The motion was seconded by Bert Heyl. The motion carried unanimously. D. Zoning Case #133 John Barfield - Request for rezoning of tract of land out of the T. A. Cash Survey from "A" Residential to IC" Comm- ercial, - Mr. John Barfield appeared before the Commission to discuss the request for rezoning. The property located in the extreme North- west corner of the Euless City limits is on the spur of the proposed 360 Highway and will have good commercial potential according to Mr. Barfield. Bert Heyl made a motion to approve the request. The motion was seconded by LaVern Lee. The motion passed unanimously. A Public Hearing was set for November 3, 1964. C. Commercial permit #5 - Phillips - service station at Marlene Drive tow and Highway 183. - It was brought out by the chairman, that the re- quest would establish three service stations within a small perimeter, and as a planning Commission, it seemed very poor planning to allow this condition to prevail in the City, however, as the building com- Page no. 2. plied with all necessary Ord?.ncences. ich^ request was approved. OLD BUSINESS A, Zoning Case #132 Warren Fuller - Request for rezoning Tracts A,B, and C. out of the J. P. Halford Survey from local business to "C" Commercial. (Future site of Dalworth Oil Company Service Station). A motion was made by LaVern'Lee to approve the request and set a public hearing date for November 3, 1964„ The motion was seconded by Bert Heyl, The building permit was approved subject to the rezoning of the property to Commercial.
