HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-06-04 kir Minutes Regular Meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission June 4, 1968 CALL TO ORDER Chairman Len Weber called the regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission to order in the Council Chambers of Euless City Hall at 8:05 P. M., with the following members present: Doctor Richard Lande, Messrs. Bill Tench and Len Weber. (Absent: Mr. Jack Browne and Doctor Harold Hall .) Also present was Recording Secretary Florence Murr. VISITORS The only visitor in attendance was Mr. Fred Wilkinson. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Minutes of the regular meeting dated May 21 , 1968, were approved as written. II . CO BUIL MMERCIAL DING PERMIT N0. 66 ADDITION TO MIDWAY COFFEE SHOP, REQUESTED BY MR. RAY D. PARKER Chairman Weber recognized Mr. Fred Wilkinson, who stated that he represents Mr. Ray. D. Parker, who operates a business known as the Midway Coffee Shop, located at 204 Huffman Drive. Mr. Wilkinson stated that Mr. Parker is desirous of securing a commercial building permit to make an addition to the existing building --that the proposed addition will be used to house the dish washing equipment, a salad table and as a storeroom -- that there will be no cooking in the new addition. Chairman Weber stated that he notes on the application that Mr. Parker is not the owner of the building -- that Mrs. Earnest Almon is the owner. Chairman Weber inquired if Mrs. Almon is agreeable to the pro- posed addition to her building. Mr. Wilkinson advised that Mrs. Almon has been contacted in this matter and is agreeable to it, as long as it does not cost her anything. dcr Chairman Weber inquired concerning plans for a grease trap, which will be required. June 4, 1968) Mr. Wilkinson stated that the grease trap will be moved with the dishwasher, in order to comply with requirements of the Health Department. Mr. Tench inquired if Mr. Parker has talked with the City Inspector concerning the proposed addition. Mr. Wilkinson replied affirmatively, stating that Mr. Bullard advised that it would be satisfactory. Mr. Wilkinson stated that Mr. Parker also talked with someone from the Health Department, who had recommended this move. Chairman Weber inquired concerning the present structure. Mr. Wilkinson stated that the East side of the building is of frame construction, and the remainder is concrete blocks -- that the addition will be of concrete blocks. Doctor Lande made the motion to recommend approval of Commercial Building Permit No. 66 for an addition to Midway Coffee Shop, providing all City requirements are met, an adequate grease trap is provided and necessary documents are furnished by the owner, granting approval for the construction. Mr. Tench seconded the motion, and the vote is as follows: Ayes: Messrs. Tench, Lande and Weber Nays: None Chairman Weber declared the motion carried. 111 .
