HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-04-17 Regular Meeting thr Planning and Zoning Commission April 17, 1973 CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order at 8:05 P. M. in the Council Chambers of Euless City Hall by Chairman Jack Cline. Other members present were Messrs. Carl Tyson, Harry Arth, Herman Wallace and Richard Leggett. (Absent were Messrs. Ray Ozebek and Robert Johnson.) Also present was City Inspector Jack Bullard. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Arth moved to approve minutes of the regular meeting dated April 3, 1973 as written. Mr. Wallace seconded the motion and the vote is as follows: Ayes: Messrs. Arth, Wallace, Tyson, Leggett and Cline Nays: None Chairman Cline declared the motion carried. REPLAT APPROVAL, LOTS 7 AND 8, BLOCK 5, TRAILWOOD ADDITION, SECOND FILING. (PROPERTY LOCATED ON SHENANDOAH DRIVE, 137. 1 FEET SOUTH OF TRAILWOOD DRIVE.) Mr. Tyson excused himself from the Commission and presented the replat of Lots 7 and 8, Block 5, Trailwood Addition, Second Filing. Mr. Tyson stated that he owned lots 7 and 8 and would like to sell a portion of Lot 8, keeping 11 feet on the south side adjacent to his house. Mr. Tyson further stated he was requesting the replat for the purpose of changing the lot line to indicate the portion he is keeping and the portion he is selling. Mr. Arth moved to recommend approval of the replat as requested. Mr. Leggett seconded the motion and the vote is as follows: Ayes: Messrs. RESOLUTION NO. 217: CALLING PUBLIC HEARING - ZONING CASE NO. 231 - REQUEST OF PHIL PETERSON FOR CHANGE OF ZONING FROM "C-1" NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT TO "C-2" COMMUNITY BUSINESS DISTRICT WITH A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT TO OPERATE A FAMILY RECREATION CENTER. (PROPERTY LOCATED ON WEST MIDWAY DRIVE, ADJACENT TO EAST SIDE OF MIDWAY PARK.) Mr. Leggett moved to approve Resolution No. 217, setting May 1 , 1973 as the date for the Public Hearing on Zoning Case No. 231 . Mr. Wallace seconded the motion and the vote is as follows: Ayes: Messrs. Leggett, Wallace, Arth, Tyson and Cline Nays: None Chairman Cline declared the motion carried. III . CONSIDER REPORT FROM ROBERT W. CALDWELL AND ASSOCIATES, PLANNING CONSULTANTS ON OFF-STREET PARKING REQUIREMENTS FOR MOTELS. The members of the Commission discussed a letter received from Robert Caldwell and Associates concerning the off- street parking requirements for motels. The members of the Commission stated they would like to study Ordinance No. 347, the City' s zoning ordinance, and make recommendations at the next regular meeting. IV. ORDINANCE FORBIDDING PARKING ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS Mr. Arth stated that he requests an ordinance be drawn forbidding parking on residential streets from 5:00 A. M. until 8:00 P. M. for consideration by the Commission at the next regular meeting. V. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 9:00 P. M. ,.. APPROVED: Chairman
