Planning and Zoning Commission

CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Euless
Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order at 8:00 P. M. in the
Council Chambers of Euless City Hall , with Chairman Leonard Weber pre-
siding. Other members present were Messrs. Harry Arth and Jack Cline.
(Absent were Messrs. Turner Gauntt, Richard Leggett, Robert Johnson and
Herman Wallace. )
Also present was City Inspector Jack
Bullard.
VISITORS
Visitors present are listed, as follows :
Mrs. Virginia Elliott, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Jordan, Messrs. Kenneth E. Frost,
Jr. , J. S. Anderson and Daniel M. Arnold.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Cline moved to approve minutes of
the regular meeting dated October 19, 1971 , as written.
Mr. Arth seconded the motion, and the
vote is as follows :
Ayes : Messrs. Cline, Arth and Weber
Nays : None
Chairman Weber declared the motion carried.
II .
PUBLIC HEARING: ZONING CASE NO. 220,
REQUEST OF MR. ROBERT BAKER FOR RE-
ZONING LOT 24R4, BLOCK 13, J. S.
ANDERSON SUBDIVISION OF BELL RANCH
TERRACE ADDITION, FROM "R-1" SINGLE
FAMILY TO "C-2" COMMUNITY BUSINESS
(PROPERTY LOCATED SOUTH OF SIGNET
STREET, 341 .5 FEET WEST OF FM157)
Chairman Weber opened the public hear-
ing on Zoning Case 220, and recognized Mr. Robert Baker.
Mr. Baker advised that he requests
the rezoning of Lot 24R4, Block 13, J. S. Anderson Subdivision of Bell

Ranch Terrace Addition, from "R-1" to "C-2", in order to construct a
building to house an auto parts business and a garage.
Mrs. Virginia Elliott, owner of Lot
24R3, Block 13, stated that she is in favor of the requested zoning.
A letter from Mr. W. C. Cashion of
4805 Parrish Road, Fort Worth, Texas, was presented by Chairman Weber.
In the letter, Mr. Cashion stated that he owns property within two
hundred feet of the subject property and that he is in favor of the re-
quested change of zoning.
Chairman Weber called for other pro-
ponents in this zoning case. There being none, he called for opponents.
Mr. Charles Jordan, owner of Lot
24R5, Block 13, stated that he is opposed to the requested change of
zoning.
Chairman Weber closed the public hear-
ing on Zoning Case 220.
Mr. Arth moved to recommend denial
of Mr. Baker's request for rezoning, as petitioned in Zoning Case 220.
Mr. Cline seconded the motion, and
the vote is as follows :
Ayes : Messrs. Arth, Cline and Weber
Nays : None
Chairman Weber declared the motion carried.
III .
CONSIDERATION OF REQUEST FROM
MAYFLOWER TRUST FOR AN EXTENSION
OF TIME APPLIED TO CONDITIONS SUB-
SEQUENT INCORPORATED IN ORDINANCE
NO. 333 (ZONING CASE NO. 175 )
(PROPERTY LOCATED AT NORTHWEST
CORNER OF NORTH MAIN AND HARWOOD)
Chairman Weber recognized Mr. Daniel
M. Arnold, representing Mayflower Trust in their request for an extension
of time applied to conditions subsequent incorporated in the ordinance
rezoning Block 1 , Block 3 and a portion of Block 2, Oak Forest Addition.
Mr. Arnold advised that the property
in question is not ready for development at this time. (The time allowed

for the first phase of development expires on December 15, 1971 . )
Mr. Cline moved to recommend approval
of Mayflower Trust's request, extending the zoning for a period of one
(1 ) year from the date of expiration.
Mr. Arth seconded the motion, and the
vote is as follows :
Ayes : Messrs . Cline, Arth and Weber
Nays : None
Chairman Weber declared the motion carried.

The meeting was adjourned at 9: 10 P.M.
