HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-08-21 kar Regular Meeting Planning and Zoning Commission August 21 , 1973 CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order at 8:00 P. M. in the Council Chambers of Euless City Hall by Chairman Carl Tyson. Other members present were Messrs. Don Perkins, Herman Wallace and Ray Ozebek. (Absent were Messrs. Richard Leggett, Robert Johnson and Bob Pippin.) Also present was City Inspector Jack Bullard. VISITORS Visitors in attendance were Messrs. Alan W. Hamm and Bill Pasteur. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Wallace moved to approve minutes of the regular meeting dated August 7, 1973, as written. Mr. Ozebek seconded the motion and the vote is as follows: Ayes: Messrs. Wallace, Ozebek, Perkins and Tyson Nays: None Chairman Tyson declared the motion carried. CONSIDER REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF TIME ON ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 326 - REQUEST OF MR. BILL PASTEUR FOR EXTENSION OF TIME ON ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 326. (PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF HARWOOD ROAD AND NORTH MAIN STREET) ZONING CASE NO. 170 Chairman Tyson recognized Mr. Bill Pasteur, who presented a request for permanent zoning on property located on the Northeast corner of Harwood Road and North Main Street. Mr. Pasteur stated that this property has been zoned for five (5) years and he has made three (3) request for extension of time in order to keep the zoning and he feels this is the best use of this property and he is requesting permanent zoning on this property. Mr. Ozebek moved to recommend approval of permanent zoning of property zoned by Ordinance No. 326. Mr. Wallace seconded the motion and the vote is as follows: (Page Two, Regular Meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission, August 21 , 1973) Ahw Ayes: Messrs. Ozebek, Wallace, Perkins, and Tyson Nays: None Chairman Tyson declared the motion carried. II . CONSIDER CHANGES FOR HEIGHT LIMITS IN "C-2" ZONING DISTRICT Mr. Ozebek moved to recommend change to amend Ordinance No. 347, Section 7-503, on height limits in "C-2" zoning to delete height restrictions on buildings in "C-2" zoning, but to require one (1) additional foot of set back for each foot of height over sixty (60) feet, on all except dedicated street side. Mr. Wallace seconded the motion and the vote is as follows: Ayes: Messrs. Ozebek, Wallace, Perkins and Tyson Nays: None Chairman Tyson declared the motion carried. III . CONSIDER CHANGES IN ORDINANCE NO. 147 ON ZONING CASES AND PLATS Mr. Wallace moved to recommend change to amend Ordinance No. 147 to require that all zoning cases and plats be submitted to the City twelve (12) days prior to the Planning and Zoning Commission meetings and that five (5) copies of Engineering plans be submitted along with twenty (20) location plats. Mr. Perkins seconded the motion and the vote is as follows: Ayes: Messrs. Wallace, Perkins, Ozebek, and Tyson Nays: None Chairman Tyson declared the motion carried. REQUEST FOR A RECORDING SECRETARY Mr. Perkins moved to request the City to furnish a recording secretary from the City Secretary' s staff to take minutes of their meetings. Mr. Wallace seconded the motion and the vote is as follows: Ayes: Messrs. Perkins, Wallace, Ozebek, and Tyson Nays: None Chairman Tyson declared the motion carried. V.
