MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE
LIBRARY BOARD
THURSDAY,APRIL 1,2021
ITEM NO. 1 CALLED TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Euless Library Board was called to order by Chairperson Snitz at 7:00
p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2021, in the Meeting Room of the Library, 201 N Ector Drive. Those
present included Chairperson Barney Snitz, Vice Chairperson Allan Gibbs, Board Members Jim
Hamilton, Rochelle Ragas,Mavy Wright, Chris McAllister, and Jorge Chac. Board Member Mike
McGehee was not present.

Sherry Knight,Library Director
Mollie Myers, Administrative Secretary
VISITORS
No visitors present.
ITEM NO. 2 APPROVED LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES
Chairperson Snitz asked for a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held March 4,
2021. The motion was made by Board Member Hamilton and seconded by Board Member Ragas.
All were in favor and the motion carried.
ITEM NO.3 WELCOMED VISITORS
No visitors present.
ITEM NO. 4 PRESENTED LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT
❖ Staff Development/Saleh Tour Update
Ms. Knight gave an overview of Mary Lib Saleh's visit to the library to tour the facility with her
family and gave a short explanation of her history in the City of Euless. Ms.Knight also mentioned
that Ms. Saleh's birthday celebration was soon and invited the Board to send her a card.
Ms. Knight also gave an overview of the staff development that was done during the Saleh tour.
❖ Library Update
Ms. Knight gave an overview of the statistical report and mentioned how traffic,circulation, new
library cards, and study room usage have all increased. Ms. Knight then stated that in-person
programs would begin in June for adults and children.

❖ Classes &Events Update
Ms. Knight gave an overview of upcoming virtual programming, library closings, and gave the
details of the HEB Reads Kickoff in May and invited members to volunteer.
ITEM NO. 5 REPORTS
Library Board Chairperson
No report was given.
Library Board Vice-Chairperson
Vice Chairperson Gibbs stated that the Euless Library Foundation would be able to plan a reception
for the Bubble Wall donors sometime in September.
Vice Chairperson Gibbs also announced his engagement to be wed and the Board extended their
congratulations.
Library Board Members
Board Member Hamilton inquired about Cloud Library.
Board Member Ragas inquired about Hoopla.
Board Member McAllister asked a follow-up question to Board Member Hamilton's Cloud
Library question. Board Member McAllister mentioned that more of his students were beginning
to attend in-person class.

No visitors present.
ITEM NO. 8 ADJOURNMENT
Chairperson Snitz asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Vice Chairperson
Gibbs and seconded by Board Member Hamilton. The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
