Regular Meeting
Euless City Council
January 9, 1956
The City Council met in regular session
on January 9, 1956, at 7:30 p.m.
Present were Mayor Jimmy Payton, and
Councilmen M. L. Anders, J. S. Anderson, W. H. Fuller, Ernest Millican, Jr.,
and A. E. Ti 1 lery.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor
Payton, and the minutes of past meetings were read and approved.
Meeting with the council were Messrs.
Paul C. Mason, Ross Cannon and Warren Fuller.
Mr. Mason sought information concerning
the erection of a trailer court on property held by him on Highway 183.
The matter was referred to the building commission, Mr. Knarr, the chairman
being present.
Mr. Cannon also was seeking information
relative to replatting and building on certain lots, some of them not on
dedicated streets. He was informed of the provisions of Ordinance No. 40,
which require that all future plats within the city limits must be paved,
curbed and guttered.
Mr. Fuller desired information regarding
a temporary building on Highway 183 to be used as a real estate office.
The Council promised to make some necessary investigations and notify him
at a later date.
A letter from Mrs. Ora Belle Baker of
Fort Worth, Texas, asking permission to build a duplex or triplex on lot
11, block 13, in the Cedar Hills Addition was brought to the attention of
the Council, who in turn referred the matter to the Board of Zoning
Adjustment.
Through the courtesy of Councilman
Anderson, M r . S . W. M i l l s submitted a drawing of a proposed temporary
building he wished to erect on Highway 183 to be used as a seasonal produce
house. Since no provision is found to cover such request, the council
deferred action until further study could be made.'
A letter accompanying the plat of a
certain tract of land acquired by Johnson - Campbell, within the city limits
of Euless, for development purposes, was presented to the council. In
the letter, Johnson - Campbell Lumber Company proposed to gravel the streets
to meet county specifications that were in effect at the time the land was
purchased, and proceed with their building project. This matter, too, was
referred to the Board of Zoning Adjustment.
