HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-03-17FINAL MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETTNG OF THE EULESS ANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY BOARD March 17,2021 ITEM 1 - CALL TO ORDER A regular meeting of the Euless Animal Shelter Advisory Board was called to order by Director of Public Works and Engineering Hal Cranor at 11:29 A.M. via Zoom video conference call. The following members were in attendance: Director of Public Works and Engineering Hal Cranor Dr. Susan Read City Council Member Eddie price City of Bedford Animal Control Officer Krissa Blundell Staff Members Present: Animal Control Supervisor Larry Atkinson Administrative Secretary Debbie Latour Guests Present: Barbara Brown - MidCities Community Cats ITEM 2 - REVIEW & APPROVE MEETING MINUTES FROM DECEMBER 16, 2O2O Director Cranor asked if there were any comments or questions regarding the minutes of December 16, 2020. With no questions or comments, the minutes were accepted as written. ITEM 3 - UPDATE ON GAP Supervisor Atkinson reported that GAP will be holding a virtualWalk-A-Thon on April 24th from 11:00 am. until 1:00 pm. ITEM 4 - QUARTERLY REPORT Composite of quarterly calls for service were distributed along with case statistics per species. ACO Supervisor Atkinson reported that GAP has been instrumental in helping to keep dogs out of the shelter due to COVID. Director Cranor asked how many animali are currently in the shelter. Supervisor Atkinson stated that there are currenfly 3 dogs and 5 cats. Director Cranor asked if there were any questions or comments pertaining-to the distributed reports. No questions or comments were indicated. Page 1 of 2 ITEM 5 - SHELTER / FACILITY UPDATE Supervisor Atkinson inquired about the feasibility of having the paint on the walls in thekennel area updated. ITEM 6 - QUESTIONS / COMMENTS Dr. Read asked if there were any problems at the shelter during the recent freeze. Supervisor Atkinson.said that they only had one pipe that had burst-in the dog run area.Director Cranor inquired about the restricted access to the shelterthat is curren-gy in place and if that has affggted GAP participation. Supervisor Atkinson reported that there havebeen no issues with the restricted access being in place. Directoi Cranor asked if therewere any further questions or comments pertaining to the meeting.
