Called Meeting
Euless City Council
January 23, 1956
The City Council was called in a special
session by Mayor Jimmy Payton on January 23, 1956, at 7:30 p.m.
Present were Mayor Jimmy Payton, and
Councilmen M. L. Anders, W. H. Fuller, Ernest Millican, Jr., and A. E.
Ti1lery.
The meeting was called principally to
dispose of several recommendations offered by the Board of Adjustment.
The recommendation of the Board of
Adjustment was accept by the Council that Mrs. Ora Belle Baker's request
to erect a duplex in the Cedar H i l l s Addition be rejected for' the following
reasons:
A. Lot too small
B. Would require rezoning and spot zoning
C. Would require consent of other property owners in the area, etc.
But it was further suggested by the Board
of Adjustment that Mrs. Baker get a petition or written approval from the
owners of lots 7 through 13, block 13, and lots 7 through 13, of block 12.
Upon the submission of such approval, the Board cf Adjustment w i l l gladly
reconsider Mrs. Baker's request. Motion made by Council Millican and
seconded by Councilman Anders. The vote was unanimous.
The City Secretary was requested to
prepare a letter to be sent to Mrs. Baker notifying her of the Council's
action.
The second recommendation of the Board was
its response to the request of Mr. Paul C. Mason for permission to construct
a t ra i I e r court on Highway 183. The Council accepted the Board's recommend-
ation to issue Mr. Mason a permit under the conditions set forth in its
letter to the council. A motion to accept this recommendation was made
by Councilman Fuller and seconded by Councilman Tillery. The vote was
unanimous.
The final recommendation coming from
the Board of Adjustment was that the Johnson - Campbell proposal to gravel
streets and proceed with their intent to build be refused because of
Johnson - Campbell's failure to comply with the provisions of Ordinance No. 40.
A motion was offered by Councilman Anders
and seconded by Councilman M i l l i c a n accepting the recommendations of the
Board of Adjustment by a unanimous vote.

The City Secretary was requested to I.
prepare letters to those concerned stating the decisions of the City {
Council, setting forth the reasons and send copies to the Board of
Adj ustment .
The Council also adopted a suggestion
that Mr. Wisenbaker be sent a letter of thanks for a check received
from him representing 2 %of the water receipts collected within the City
of Euless for the year 1955. And, incidentally, to thank him for his token
o f good w i l l during the Christmas season.
The advisability of setting up a
corporation court to iron out some difficulties arising was discussed, but
no immediate action taken.
Payton at 9:15 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned by Mayor
