Regular Meeting
Euless City Council
March 12, 1956
The City Council met in regular session
March 12, 1956, at 7:30 p.m.
Present were Mayor Jimmy Payton, and
Councilmen M. L. Anders, J. S. Anderson, W. H. Fuller, Ernest Millican, Jr.,
and A. E. Tillery.
Also meeting with the Council were Mr.
A. J. Knarr, the chairman of the Planning Commission and Mr. F. E. Gray.
The meeting was called to ovder by Mayor
Payton, and the minutes of past meetings were read and approved.
Filed for future reference was a letter
from Mr. H. C. Swor, submitted as a bid and proposal to enter into contract
with the City of Euless for the disposal of garbage, setting forth the fees
and regulations suggestive as pertaining to such contract. The City
Secretary was instructed by the Council to scrutinize the provisions of
the Garbage Disposal Ordinance and make note of the variations between
the proposals of Mr. Swor's letter and the requirements of the ordinance.
These notes to be presented at the next Council meeting or at such time as
Mr. Swor would be present.
The City Secretary was further instructed
to make a questionnaire from information contained in the Garbage Disposal
Ordinance and have the man now serving the people of Euless in picking
up and disposing of the garbage to familiarize himself with the questions,
and answer the questions in writing with his signature attached.
Mr. Fred E. Gray discussed with the
Council the possibility of his acceptance of appointment by the Council,
to the place of Judge of the Corporation Court of the City of Euless, to
be known as recorder. A motion by Councilman Anders, seconded by Councilman
Tillery was unanimously carried appointing Mr. Gray to said position. Mr.
Gray accepted.

Mr. H. 0. McCain informing him that the information he seeks regarding the
rezoning of lot 13, in the Euless Gardens Addition, and the suggested change
in the drainage easement for lots 12 through 14, is being withheld until
the Planning Commission makes its recommendation on the replating of these
lots.
The Mayor instructed the City Secretary
to send a I i st of the candidates running for places on the city council to
the Mid - Cities news for publication.

A motion was made by Councilman M i l l i c a n
and seconded by Councilman F u l l e r and was unanimously adopted by the
Council, that the City pay for one Notary Seal purchased by Mr. Kennard,
at the direction of Mr. Gleeson.
