Euless City Council
April 9, 1956
The City Council of Euless, Texas,
met in regular session April 9, 1956 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting was called
to order by Mayor Jimmy Payton.
After the Mayor had canvassed the votes
i n the presence of the council, of an election held April 3, 1956, as
provided for in Resolution No. 8, adopted by the Council February 13, 1956,
and found them to be correct, and on a motion by Councilman Fuller,
seconded by Councilman Anderson, Resolution No. 9 was approved and made
a part of these minutes, that WAL. Anders, Ernest Millican, Jr., and J.
S. Anderson, having received the highest number of votes, were thereby
declared elected to the office of Councilman.
N"Z2 Z"—(�n After the approval and adoption of
Resolution No. 9, X L. Anders, J. S. Anderson, and Ernest Millican, Jr.,
were sworn in by Mayor Payton as newly elected councilmen for a term of
two years.
Meeting with the new council were Messrs.
Geo. P. Gleeson and A. 3. Knarr.
Following the reading and approval of
the minutes of previous meetings, the City Secretary was instructed to
notify Messrs. Swor, Emmons, Jones and any others who had sought information
on a franchise on a grabage disposal agreement with the City. These men are
to meet with the Council April 23, 1956, if proper public notice has been
published on other matters which would demand a meeting at such date.
On motion by Councilman Fuller and
seconded by Councilman Millican, unanimous approval was given the petition
of Emory Morris and wife Irene Morris annexing certain territory in the
Hamilton Hust Survey, to the City of Euless. Ordinance No. 46 relates to
this annexation.
A motion by Councilman M. L. Anders
seconded by Councilman Anderson, also approved unanimous the petition of
Emory Morris and wife Irene Morris to annex to the City of Euless certain
territory in the Hamilton Hust Survey as more fully described in Ordinance
No. 47.
