AUTHORIZING CITY OF EULESS PARTICIPATION IN
THE STATE OF TEXAS "CLEAN VEHICLE PROGRAM"
WHEREAS, Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, and Denton counties have been designated
by the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 as an ozone non - attainment area, and thus
qualifies for the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) improvements funds; and
WHEREAS, a program of purchasing or converting new and existing vehicles
from conventional fuels to alternative fuels desired to be hereinafter identified as the
"Clean Vehicle Program "; and,
WHEREAS, the North Central Texas Council of Governments has submitted the
"Clean Vehicle Program" through the Texas Natural Resource Conservation
Commission to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the incorporation in the
State implementation plan to assist in the reduction of ozone - forming mobile emissions;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Euless desires to enter
into agreement with the State of Texas to establish the parties' obligations and
responsibilities associated with the Altemative Fuels "Clean Vehicle Program" and
hereby authorizes the Mayor to sign said agreement.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED at the regular meeting of the Euless City Council
on the 11th day of June, 2002, by a vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, and 0
abstentions.
