A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO CONDUCT A
SALE BY PUBLIC AUCTION OF LOT 8, BLOCK 6, BELL
RANCH TERRACE ADDITION AT 10:00 A.M. ON
OCTOBER 10, 2002, IN THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBER
AT THE EULESS MUNICIPAL COMPLEX AND
ESTABLISHING A MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE BID AMOUNT
WHEREAS, Section 253.008 of the Local Government Code establishes a
procedure for the sale by public auction of real property owned by a city; and,
WHEREAS, The City of Euless owns a parcel of land known as Lot 8, Block 6,
Bell Ranch Terrace Addition, located on the east side of Calvary Drive in Euless,
Tarrant County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that such property is surplus and
will not be needed for municipal purposes; and,
WHEREAS, Jerry R. Jones, MAI, has completed an independent appraisal of
such property on behalf of the City, and has concluded that that the estimated Market
Value of such property is seven - thousand and no /100 dollars ($7,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EULESS:
SECTION I
That the City Council authorizes the sale by public auction of Lot 8, Block 6, Bell
Ranch Terrace Addition, which auction is to be conducted on October 10, 2002, at
10:00 A.M. in the Council Chamber of the Euless Municipal Complex, 201 N. Ector
Drive, Euless, Tarrant County, Texas.
SECTION 11
That the City Council directs the City Manager or his designee to conduct such
public auction and that the minimum acceptable bid for such property be an amount not
less than the appraised value thereof, seven - thousand dollars and no /100 dollars
($7,000.00).
SECTION III
That if a final bid is received in an amount equal to or greater than such
appraised value, the auction will conclude and the City Council at its next regularly
scheduled meeting on October 22, 2002, consider acceptance of the bid and authorize
the Mayor to execute in favor of such successful bidder a Special Warranty Deed
conveying such property.
PASSED AND APPROVED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on
the 8TH day of October, 2002, by a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, and 0
abstentions.
