Vice-Chairman Barney Snitz called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: The Vice-Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the
minutes of the December 5, 2013 meeting. Allan Gibbs made the motion to accept the minutes and Marcia
Brown seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Vice-Chairman Barney Snitz welcomed all of the visitors and new board members
to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Stats continue to look good. E-Books, E-Audio, Digital Magazine, and Tumble Books usage continues to
increase.
Sherry commented on how the library has connected with the community with many special events and
activities.
Sherry commented on the new After School Activities.
Eric Litwin program, author of Pete the Cat, was a big success with 340 attending.
Upcoming Masterworks performances:
• Havana NRG (Latin/Salsa) Monday, January 13th at 7:00pm
• The Les Elgart Orchestra(big band/swing) Monday, February 10th at 7:00PM
• The Killdares (Celtic Music) Monday, March 10th—7pm at Bear Creek Amphitheater
On Thursday, January 30th at 7pm we have 2 staff members offering a craft class on Book Page Crafting. The
program is free and open to the public.
DISCUSSIONS:
1. Barney Snitz commented on the Masterworks program.
2. Allan Gibbs commented on E-books and the library newsletter.
3. Marcia Brown commented on the 2500 books donated to students in December. The Retired HEBISD
School Employees were able to donate the books through a fund raiser with Outback Steakhouse.
4. Carol Kveck commented on the children's programs.
5. Jason Reyes commented on Author programs for the library.

6. Chris McAllister commented on adding other school student's artwork in the library.
CITIZEN AND VISITOR COMMENTS:
1. Councilman Leon Hogg commented on E-books, the ELF Tile Project, and the opening of the
Natatorium at the Euless Family Life Center.
2. LuAnn Portugal commented on the Masterwork Programs and the ELF Tile Project.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Allan Gibbs and seconded by
Loretta Doty. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
